White Collar Renaissance is still in development, not officially ordered. The planned continuation has a completed pilot script, “Masquerade,” and public support from returning stars Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, and Tiffani Thiessen. But Hulu passed on the project in February 2025, and no replacement platform, production start, or release date has been announced.
What is the White Collar revival called?
The continuation is titled White Collar Renaissance. It is a revival of USA Network’s six-season series, which ran from 2009 to 2014—not a remake or reboot with a different cast.

Creator Jeff Eastin announced the project at a Variety TV Fest panel on June 6, 2024. Eastin said he was writing the script, while Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, and Tiffani Thiessen publicly confirmed their involvement as Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, and Elizabeth Burke.
The “exciting update” was a completed pilot script
On September 16, 2024, Eastin said the new script was being sent to the studio the following day and that the studio was very happy with it. The first episode is titled “Masquerade.” The script cover also used the title White Collar Renaissance, reinforcing that the project had moved beyond the earliest concept stage.

That was a meaningful development, but it was not a series order. A completed and positively received pilot can help a project attract a buyer; it does not guarantee that filming will begin or that the pilot will become a full season.
Did Matt Bomer’s new Hulu sitcom delay the revival?
The scheduling concern centered on Mid-Century Modern, a Hulu sitcom starring Bomer and Nathan Lane. Hulu ordered that series in August 2024, and it premiered in March 2025, according to TheWrap.
Because Bomer was committed to another Hulu production, reports and fan discussions raised the possibility that his availability could affect White Collar Renaissance. However, there has been no verified announcement that Mid-Century Modern formally delayed, cancelled, or blocked the revival.

The confirmed setback came from the project’s distribution situation: Hulu later passed on White Collar Renaissance. That makes the search for a new buyer more consequential than the unconfirmed theory that Bomer’s sitcom caused a delay.
Hulu passed—but the project was not declared dead
Reports in February 2025, including coverage citing Deadline, said Hulu had passed on the revival. Eastin was expected to shop the project to other networks and streaming services. PopCulture’s report describes the change in status.
Hulu was never confirmed as the final home of the show, and no replacement platform has since been publicly announced. Netflix, Prime Video, and Peacock have been discussed as possible destinations, but those names do not represent confirmed pickups.

In practical terms, the revival has a script and publicly attached returning actors, but it still needs a buyer willing to order and finance the series.

Yes. In a July 2025 interview with USA Network, Bomer said he would return to White Collar “in a heartbeat” and said he remained close with his former castmates. That supports the idea that Bomer’s interest has not disappeared, but enthusiasm is not the same as a production commitment or official greenlight. His comments are reported by USA Network.
In an April 2026 Esquire interview, Bomer mentioned a Hulu project he was waiting to hear about, along with other projects in development. The interview did not identify that project as White Collar Renaissance and did not announce a revival order or filming schedule.

How will the revival address Mozzie?
Willie Garson, who played Neal’s closest friend Mozzie, died in September 2021. The proposed revival’s story is designed to acknowledge both Garson and the character’s importance to the original series.
Bomer has said he would not participate unless the project handled Mozzie’s absence appropriately. Thiessen described the planned tribute as being approached with sensitivity and heart, while DeKay said the script answers questions left by the original show and introduces the story to viewers who may not have seen it. Those comments came from the cast and Eastin’s 2024 discussion with TVLine.
What has not been confirmed?
- Series order: No network or streamer has formally ordered the revival.
- Platform: Hulu passed, and no replacement home has been announced.
- Production: No filming or principal-photography start has been verified.
- Release date: No premiere date or official release window exists.
- 2026 launch: A 2026 release has appeared in fan speculation and database listings, but it is not an official date. Looking Forward To also notes the lack of a confirmed launch.
The accurate status of White Collar Renaissance
The revival has progressed further than a vague reunion idea: it has an official working title, a completed pilot script, and public commitments from Bomer, DeKay, and Thiessen. The pilot’s reported positive studio response was the most substantial update in 2024.
But the project remains in development. Hulu’s decision not to proceed created a buyer problem, not proof that the series was cancelled. Until another distributor announces an order, claims that White Collar Renaissance is filming, definitely arriving in 2026, or was cancelled by Bomer’s sitcom should be treated as unverified or inaccurate.
