As of August 10, 2026, Anora is streaming in the United States on Hulu. Eligible library and university users may also find it on Kanopy. If you prefer a one-time purchase, current listings show rentals from $3.99 and purchases from $19.99 through Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store, and Fandango at Home; those prices were checked on August 9 and can change. Some U.S. theaters still list screenings, but availability is local and may be limited to special engagements.
U.S. availability only: streaming rights, theater showtimes, prices, and library access vary by country and can change without notice.

Sean Baker’s Anora is no longer in a broad nationwide theatrical run, but it has not completely disappeared from cinemas. The quickest at-home option for most U.S. viewers is Hulu. Kanopy may be the least expensive legal option if your library or university carries the film; otherwise, a digital rental is the lowest-cost one-time option currently listed.

Yes, but only in some locations. The official Anora website provides a location-based showtimes search, and the current U.S. availability snapshot from JustWatch has reported listings through Fandango and Regal. This is not evidence of a normal nationwide release: screenings may be limited engagements, repertory showings, special events, reissues, or listings that have not yet been removed.

How to find a nearby screening
- Open the official Anora showtimes page.
- Enter your city, ZIP code, or location.
- Choose the date you want to attend.
- Compare the listed theater, showtime, and ticket provider.
- Before traveling, open the theater or ticketing page and confirm that seats can still be selected and purchased.
A theater may appear in an aggregator search even when sales have not opened, a screening has been canceled, or the entry is stale. Treat a screening as confirmed only when the final ticketing page offers a current, purchasable showtime.
The film’s original U.S. theatrical opening was October 18, 2024, according to the official site. Any current listing should therefore be treated as a local or special screening rather than a continuing first-run release.
Where to stream Anora at home
| Service | U.S. status | What you need to know |
|---|---|---|
| Hulu | Subscription streaming | Hulu’s official title page lists the film. Plans displayed from $11.99 per month when checked, but pricing and promotions are subject to change. |
| Kanopy | Potentially free with eligible access | JustWatch lists the film on Kanopy, but playback depends on a participating library or university, local licensing, and possibly tickets. |
| Disney+ | Verify plan access | Disney+ has an official Anora title page, but Disney’s own guide labels the film “Anora, Hulu.” Do not assume that a standalone Disney+ subscription includes playback. |
Hulu: the clearest subscription option
Hulu is the most clearly verified U.S. subscription-streaming home for Anora. The service’s page identifies it as a 2024 R-rated drama/comedy and displayed plans starting at $11.99 per month when checked for this update. The price is not permanent and may differ by plan, promotion, bundle, or account.
Hulu’s March 2025 schedule records Anora as arriving on March 17, 2025. A Hulu subscription is required unless a viewer qualifies for a current offer. In other words, the film is available through Hulu, but it is not “free on Hulu” in the sense of requiring no paid access.
Kanopy: possibly the cheapest legal route
Kanopy access is conditional rather than universal. You generally need an account with a participating public library, college, or university, and the institution must have licensed Anora. A public library may also limit viewing through a monthly ticket allocation. Kanopy says unused tickets do not roll over, and some institutions can temporarily restrict streaming because of licensing or budget limits.
To check Kanopy:
- Go to Kanopy and add or select your library or university.
- Search for “Anora.”
- Confirm that the title appears in your institution’s catalog.
- Check whether it is immediately playable, how many tickets it requires, and the viewing period.
- Start playback only after confirming the access terms.
If a university account shows Request Access instead of a play button, the institution may require an approval or access request. Kanopy’s help pages explain how tickets work, how to search for a film, and why streaming access may be limited.
What about Disney+?
The answer depends on how Disney presents Hulu access in your account. Disney+ displays a page for Anora, and some third-party pages use the label “Disney+ Hulu.” However, Disney’s own editorial guide identifies the film as Hulu content, while the current U.S. JustWatch listing identifies Hulu—not a separately verified standalone Disney+ entitlement—as the subscription service.
Practical advice: sign in and check whether your particular Disney+ plan includes Hulu access before assuming the film will play. If it does not, use Hulu directly or choose a rental.
Where to rent or buy Anora digitally
The current U.S. listing checked on August 9, 2026, shows Anora on these digital storefronts:
| Storefront | Rental | Purchase | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Video | From $3.99 | From $19.99 | These are Amazon’s rental and purchase options. Do not call the film included with Prime unless Amazon’s own title page says so for your account. |
| Apple TV Store | From $3.99 | From $19.99 | Final price, resolution, subtitles, and availability can vary by account and location. |
| Fandango at Home | From $3.99 | From $19.99 | Confirm the final price and picture quality at checkout. |
The prices above are date-stamped starting prices, not guaranteed permanent prices. The tracker showed 4K offers on some storefronts, but not every device, account, or version necessarily receives the same resolution or feature set.
Is Anora included with Amazon Prime?
Not according to the current U.S. availability snapshot. JustWatch lists Amazon Video under rental and purchase options, not as a film included in the standard Prime subscription catalog.

Check the title page while signed in. If it shows a rental or purchase price, a standard Prime membership has not included the film for that account.
Which option is cheapest?
- Kanopy, if available: There may be no separate charge for the film, but you need an eligible participating institution, and a public-library stream may use tickets.
- An existing Hulu subscription: If you already subscribe, this avoids a separate rental charge.
- A digital rental: For viewers without Hulu or Kanopy, the current tracked starting price is $3.99.
- A digital purchase: At a current starting price of $19.99, buying makes more sense for repeat viewing than for a single watch.
- The Criterion disc: A physical copy costs more upfront but avoids dependence on a particular streaming catalog.
If you are deciding strictly on a single viewing and have no existing subscription, the $3.99 rental is currently the simplest paid choice. If you already have a qualifying library account, check Kanopy first.
Rental rules and viewing limitations
Rental windows are not identical across retailers. Apple’s official support documentation says a rented movie must be started within 30 days; once playback begins, it remains available for 48 hours. Apple also supports streaming and, on compatible devices, downloading rentals. See Apple’s rental guidance for the details.
Do not automatically apply Apple’s 30-day and 48-hour terms to Amazon Video or Fandango at Home. Check the retailer’s own terms at the time of rental. A digital purchase is also licensed access tied to a retailer account; it is not necessarily equivalent to owning a physical disc, and future access can depend on the retailer’s rights and supported devices.

Is Anora on Netflix, Max, Peacock, or Paramount+?
The current U.S. availability check does not list Anora as included with Netflix, Max, Peacock, or Paramount+. It also does not identify the film as included with a standard Prime subscription. Streaming catalogs change, so use the live JustWatch U.S. listing and the services’ own title pages rather than relying on an older article or search result.
Some older or secondary pages may still mention YouTube or Google Play. Those listings were not foregrounded by the most recent availability check used here, so verify a live title page before counting either service as an option.
Physical-media option: Criterion’s 4K edition
For collectors or viewers who want a copy that is not dependent on a subscription catalog, The Criterion Collection lists Anora as a 4K UHD + Blu-ray release. Criterion’s release schedule gives the home-video date as April 29, 2025.
A disc requires compatible hardware and a higher upfront purchase than a rental, but it is a better fit for repeat viewing and collection-building. It also avoids the possibility that the film will leave Hulu or another digital service. Check the Criterion listing for the edition’s current availability and included materials.

Film details and content advisory
- Director: Sean Baker
- Principal cast: Mikey Madison, Mark Eydelshteyn, and Yura Borisov
- Runtime: approximately 139 minutes, or 2 hours 19 minutes
- Rating: R
- Rating reasons: strong sexual content throughout, graphic nudity, pervasive language, and drug use
Streaming services display the runtime slightly differently: Apple lists 2 hours 19 minutes, JustWatch lists 139 minutes, and Hulu displays 2 hours 18 minutes. This is best treated as a metadata-rounding difference, not evidence of different cuts, unless a distributor specifically identifies an alternate version.
Accessibility features can also vary by storefront. Apple’s U.S. listing identifies English audio with Dolby 5.1, English SDH subtitles, Spanish Latin American subtitles, and audio description. If you want subtitles for the film’s Russian dialogue—or need a particular accessibility track—open the audio and subtitle selector on the specific service before starting playback. Tracks may differ between Hulu, Kanopy, digital stores, and the Criterion edition.
What to do when a listing does not work
A theater appears in search, but tickets are unavailable
The entry may be a future placeholder, a canceled screening, a private or festival engagement, or stale aggregator data. Open the theater’s own website or app and confirm that seats can be selected and purchased. If not, choose another date or use a verified at-home option.
The Hulu page loads, but playback is unavailable
Possible causes include being outside the U.S. catalog, using an account without the required Hulu access, encountering plan restrictions in a Disney+/Hulu integration, or reaching the title after it has left the catalog. Sign in directly to Hulu, search from inside your account, and verify the plan rather than relying on a search-engine result.

Your institution may not license the film, access may be temporarily restricted, you may not have enough tickets, or a university may require an access request. Try Kanopy’s website rather than only the TV app, check whether you have another eligible library, and review its pages on access restrictions, film access requests, and managing libraries. If access still fails, Hulu or a digital rental is the practical fallback.
International availability
This guide covers the United States. A U.S. Hulu, Kanopy, rental, purchase, or theater result should not be transferred to the U.K., Canada, Australia, or another market. Search the local version of the relevant service and confirm local theater listings and prices before making a decision.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Anora free on Hulu?
No. Hulu is a subscription service. Hulu’s Anora page displayed plans from $11.99 per month when checked, although plan prices and promotions can change. The film may be included with a plan, but it is not free without Hulu access.
Can I watch Anora free with a library card?
Possibly through Kanopy, but a library card alone does not guarantee access. Your public library, college, or university must participate in Kanopy and license the film. Public-library viewing may use monthly tickets, and some institutions restrict access or require a request.
Recommended Free Tools
Is Anora included with Amazon Prime?
The current U.S. listing places Anora on Amazon Video as a rental or purchase, not in the standard Prime subscription catalog. Check Amazon’s title page while signed in because account and regional availability can differ.
Does a Disney+ subscription include Anora?
Disney+ has an official title page, but Disney’s own guide identifies the film as Hulu content. Verify that your particular Disney+ plan includes Hulu access before assuming playback is included.
How long do I have to watch an Apple rental?
Apple says you have 30 days to start a rented movie. After playback begins, you have 48 hours to finish it. Amazon Video and Fandango at Home may use different terms, so check their rental policies.
Why do different websites show different prices or runtimes?
Rental and purchase prices change by date, storefront, account, location, and sometimes resolution. The August 9, 2026 U.S. check showed offers from $3.99 to rent and $19.99 to buy. Runtime listings range from 2 hours 18 minutes to 2 hours 19 minutes, which appears to be a metadata-rounding difference.
Does Anora have subtitles and audio description?
Apple’s U.S. listing identifies English SDH subtitles, Spanish Latin American subtitles, Dolby 5.1 audio, and audio description. Other services may offer different tracks. Check the audio and subtitle selector on the specific version before watching, especially if you need subtitles for Russian dialogue.
Is the Criterion disc a different cut from the streaming version?
The available metadata shows small one-minute runtime differences between services but does not identify an alternate cut. Those differences should not be treated as evidence of a different version unless the distributor specifically says so. Criterion’s edition is a 4K UHD + Blu-ray release for viewers who prefer physical media.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: For U.S. viewers, start with Hulu if you already subscribe, check Kanopy if you have eligible library or university access, and use a digital rental if you want to watch once without adding a subscription. Current tracked offers checked August 9, 2026, began at $3.99 to rent and $19.99 to buy. Theater screenings still exist in some places, but confirm the final ticket page before traveling.
