Reacher Season 4 premiered on Prime Video on August 12, 2026. The first three episodes were released together, with the remaining episodes arriving weekly through September 16. That makes Alan Ritchson’s November 2025 comment that production was “a week away” from completion historical context—not a current release-date announcement.
What Alan Ritchson actually confirmed
In an interview published on November 7, 2025, Ritchson said filming was nearly complete: We’re a week away.
He also called the new season “by far the best season we’ve ever made.” The comments were made while he was promoting Playdate and did not include a premiere date. The ScreenRant interview report established that production was close to finishing; Prime Video later announced the release schedule.

Ritchson also described an unusually demanding action workload, estimating that the season involved roughly 30 fight scenes and expressing concern about “fight fatigue.” That is his approximate description, not an official episode-by-episode production statistic. Season 4 release schedule
Prime Video released the first three episodes on August 12, followed by one episode each Wednesday. As of September 13, seven episodes are scheduled to be available, with the finale due on September 16.

What is Reacher Season 4 about?
Season 4 adapts Lee Child’s 13th Jack Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow. The story begins when Reacher encounters a distressed stranger on a Philadelphia subway. That chance meeting pulls him into a dangerous mystery involving powerful and ruthless adversaries.

The television series changes the setting from the novel’s New York origins to Philadelphia. The official Prime Video synopsis specifically identifies the Philadelphia subway, so reports describing Season 4 simply as a New York-set adaptation miss an important change.

Filming is complete
Production began in June 2025 and filmed in Philadelphia. Ritchson’s near-completion update came on November 7, 2025. A November 19 report from Radio Times, based on a celebratory social-media post from a production team member, said filming had wrapped. Amazon had not issued a separate production-wrap announcement at that point, but the later release schedule confirms that the season is complete.

What comes after Season 4?
After the Season 4 finale, Amazon says all eight episodes of Neagley will be released. The spinoff stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, Reacher’s former military colleague, who becomes a private investigator in Chicago.
