ESPN’s currently indexed Wimbledon catalog lists the 2024 Wimbledon Official Film, but a complete Alcaraz–Djokovic final replay was not clearly verified there. Availability can change as archive rights and platform catalogs change, so check the exact listing before subscribing.
Spoiler: result and match details
Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic 6–2, 6–2, 7–6(4) in 2 hours and 27 minutes. The match was played on Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London. The ATP match report confirms the score and duration, while the official Wimbledon draw records the final pairing.
The final was a rematch of the 2023 Wimbledon championship match. Alcaraz entered as the defending champion and No. 3 seed; Djokovic was the No. 2 seed. Alcaraz successfully defended his title and won his fourth Grand Slam championship, according to the ATP’s report.

Coverage started before the final itself. BBC’s schedule listed live finals-day coverage from 11:00 a.m. BST, with the men’s final on BBC One from 1:00 p.m. ESPN scheduled an 8:00–9:00 a.m. ET preview before its 9:00 a.m. ET men’s championship window. The match was scheduled to run until noon ET, although tennis timings can move depending on the preceding program and match length. How viewers watched in the United States in 2024
These were the legal U.S. routes available for the original event. They should not be read as current live-stream offers now that the match has ended.
ESPN+: the direct streaming option
ESPN’s official 2024 schedule listed the men’s championship on ESPN and ESPN+ from 9:00 a.m. to noon ET, with English- and Spanish-language ESPN+ coverage. ESPN+ was the most direct official streaming route for someone who did not need the linear ESPN channel, but it was a paid subscription, not a free stream. A July 2024 guide listed ESPN+ at $11 per month at that time; that historical price should not be treated as the current rate.

ESPN’s U.S. relationship with the All England Lawn Tennis Club was extended through 2035, but that rights agreement does not guarantee that the 2024 final remains available as a full on-demand replay. Free trials from live-TV streaming services
Contemporary U.S. guides reported free-trial or promotional routes through several services:
- Fubo: a reported seven-day trial with ESPN and ESPN2.
- YouTube TV: a free trial was advertised for eligible customers and included ESPN.
- DIRECTV Stream: contemporary coverage listed a reported five-day trial.
- Sling Orange: carried ESPN, but was generally presented as a paid promotional option rather than a guaranteed free trial.
Those offers were promotional and could vary by account, billing address, location, device, app-store signup and prior use. A payment method was generally required, and a trial could renew at the standard rate if it was not canceled in time. The contemporary U.S. viewing guide lists the event-day offers; verify the final checkout page rather than relying on an old trial length or price.
For a live event, the sensible procedure would have been to confirm that ESPN appeared in the package, check the exact trial terms, enter payment details only on the provider’s official site, and set a cancellation reminder. That procedure is no longer a way to watch this final live.
ABC’s U.S. encore
ESPN’s schedule listed an ABC encore from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET on July 14, 2024. This was a replay, not the live broadcast. Viewers with access to a local ABC affiliate—through an antenna or an eligible television package—could potentially watch it, but local affiliate carriage was not universal. The schedule is recorded in ESPN’s official announcement.

Free and paid viewing options outside the United States
International rights are country-specific. The following is a record of the broadcasters and services reported for the 2024 tournament, not a promise that they still hold the rights or carry an archive in 2026.

Why BBC iPlayer was not a worldwide free workaround
BBC coverage was a strong free-to-air option for viewers in the UK, with BBC One, BBC Two, iPlayer and digital coverage. However, BBC iPlayer was not simply a free international stream. The BBC says viewers in the UK need a TV Licence to watch live television or BBC programmes on iPlayer, including on-demand programming. See the BBC terms and licensing information.
BBC terms also state that iPlayer programmes should not be streamed or downloaded outside the UK. A VPN may be blocked, may breach a broadcaster’s terms, and does not remove any TV-licensing obligation. It also does not turn a paid service into a free one. For those reasons, VPN access should not be presented as the primary legal answer for a U.S. or other international viewer.

Use this order of operations:
- Start with official Wimbledon video. Watch the verified Wimbledon YouTube upload, which contains the final’s last 26 minutes and selected games. The official final-game excerpt is another short-form option.
- Check ESPN’s archive directly. Search for Alcaraz Djokovic Wimbledon 2024 and for the 2024 Wimbledon Official Film in the Wimbledon catalog. Do not subscribe solely on the assumption that a complete match replay is included.
- Check the broadcaster in your own country. Rights holders sometimes retain replays or condensed versions, but the 2024 live rights do not guarantee current archive access.
- Use official records if you need the match result or context. The ATP report and ITF final match notes provide authoritative historical information.
A search result labeled live may simply be an expired page, a commentary stream or an unofficial upload. This distinction matters because calling ESPN+ a free stream would be inaccurate, and calling a free trial permanently free would omit its renewal terms. Likewise, calling the ABC broadcast live would be wrong: ABC showed an encore later on July 14.

Alcaraz and Djokovic met again one year after their five-set 2023 Wimbledon final. The 2024 match therefore had an immediate rematch storyline: the defending champion was trying to retain the title, while Djokovic was attempting to add another Wimbledon championship to his record.
