The date was first announced alongside Netflix’s official Season 4 trailer coverage on January 14, 2026—roughly three weeks before the premiere. Because the season has already arrived, headlines describing the release date as newly revealed or the show as “coming soon” are now outdated.

Netflix also released a separate six-minute preview on February 2. That clip is a sneak peek at the season’s opening, not a second official trailer and not the announcement of the release date.
What does the trailer reveal?
Season 4 puts Mickey Haller in the position he usually tries to avoid: he is no longer only defending a client—Mickey is the client.
The story follows directly from the Season 3 finale, when a body is found in the trunk of Mickey’s Lincoln. The dead man is identified as Sam Scales, a former client described by Netflix as a conman. Mickey must fight to prove his innocence while protecting his law license, professional reputation and freedom.

That setup makes the new season more personal than the show’s earlier cases. Mickey’s legal expertise remains his greatest advantage, but his own involvement also places unusual pressure on his relationships and the team around him. The trailer establishes the central criminal and courtroom jeopardy without revealing the later suspects, twists or resolution.
Who is in the Season 4 cast?
Returning cast

- Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller
- Neve Campbell as Maggie McPherson
- Becki Newton as Lorna
- Jazz Raycole as Izzy
- Angus Sampson as Cisco
- Elliott Gould as David “Legal” Siegel
- Krista Warner as Hayley Haller
Netflix’s Season 4 guide says Campbell returns for every episode, giving Maggie a substantial presence in the new story.
New additions
Season 4 adds Cobie Smulders, Sasha Alexander and Constance Zimmer. Zimmer plays Dana Berg, a former colleague of Maggie’s from the Los Angeles district attorney’s office. Netflix describes Berg—nicknamed “Death Row Dana”—as a relentless prosecutor and identifies Zimmer’s role as a 10-episode guest arc.

That distinction matters: Zimmer’s appearance is supported as a guest arc, not necessarily as a permanent series-regular position. The available official material also does not establish every new character’s occupation or allegiance, so trailer speculation should be treated cautiously.
Is Season 4 based on a Michael Connelly book?
Yes. Season 4 is based on The Law of Innocence by Michael Connelly, identified by Netflix Media Center as the sixth novel in the Lincoln Lawyer book series.
The television adaptation should not be treated as a scene-for-scene translation. Netflix’s series has developed its own continuity, relationships and recurring characters, so knowledge of the novel may suggest broad story elements without predicting every television plotline.

How many episodes are in Season 4?
Season 4 is presented as a 10-episode season. Netflix’s official Season 4 material also describes Constance Zimmer’s Dana Berg storyline as a 10-episode guest arc. Episode presentation, subtitles, dubbing and other playback details can vary by territory.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 4 streams exclusively on Netflix. Netflix’s official series page lists four seasons. Catalog presentation, language options, maturity labels and playback features may differ depending on the viewer’s country and account.

What should you watch before Season 4?
- Watch Season 3, especially its finale. The Season 4 premise begins with the discovery of the body in Mickey’s Lincoln.
- Refresh the main relationships. Mickey’s history with Maggie, Lorna, Izzy, Cisco and Legal Siegel remains important to the show’s emotional and professional dynamics.
- Use the six-minute preview only if you want an extra sample. Netflix’s February 2 preview is optional and should not be confused with the official January 14 trailer.
What comes after Season 4?
Netflix announced on May 13, 2026, that The Lincoln Lawyer will return for a fifth and final season. The announcement said Season 5 was in production, but it did not establish a release date. Viewers should therefore avoid claims that the final season is arriving soon until Netflix publishes an official date.
For now, the immediate answer is straightforward: Season 4 is not upcoming—it is already streaming on Netflix. Start with the official series page, and use the official trailer coverage for a spoiler-light introduction to Mickey’s most personal legal fight yet.
