Short answer: Target really did offer eligible Target Circle members separate Apple trials in June 2021: four months of Apple Music, four months of Apple TV+, four months of 50GB iCloud storage, and up to six months of Apple Arcade. No Target purchase was reported as necessary. That promotion is historical; Target’s current public Circle pages do not confirm that the same bundle can still be redeemed in 2026.
What the 2021 Target–Apple offer included
The original report, published June 18, 2021, described individual Apple-service offers rather than one uniform six-month package. The “up to six months” wording applied to Apple Arcade only.

Contemporary coverage said the offer was tied to Target Circle membership and required no Target purchase. That qualification belongs to the 2021 promotion; it should not be assumed for a later or current Apple offer.
Is the offer still available in 2026?
There is no confirmation in Target’s current public materials that the 2021 Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud bundle remains live. Target describes Circle as a free membership with automatic deals, personalized offers, rewards and “exclusive partner perks,” and its current fact sheet mentions Apple among partners, but those pages do not publish the old trial lengths or verify that the historical redemption links work.

Target later announced a different Apple campaign on October 26, 2022. That holiday promotion included four months of Apple Fitness+ and selected offers lasting up to five months, and it ended January 5, 2023. It was not an extension of the 2021 bundle.

Who could qualify?
The 2021 promotion was aimed at Target Circle members and at new or otherwise eligible subscribers to the relevant Apple services. The exact restriction could differ by service. Common limitations for Apple promotions include:
- An active subscription can make an account ineligible.
- Previous use of the same or a similar Apple trial can disqualify the Apple Account.
- Existing trials may overlap, shorten the effective free period or prevent redemption.
- Eligibility can be service-specific rather than all-or-nothing.
- The original user-facing offer was presented for the United States; that geography should not be generalized to every current Circle perk.
The original Apple/Target terms are not reproduced in the current public pages reviewed, so “new subscribers only” should be treated as a historical, service-specific eligibility description—not a universal rule for every Apple promotion today.

How redemption was supposed to work
The offers were reportedly surfaced through Target’s app or Circle account, with separate links for each Apple service. Target later documented this navigation for its 2022 Apple campaign:

- Sign in to the Target app and open My Target.
- Select Target Circle.
- Look for an Apple area such as New Offers: free Apple trials.
- Choose one service and follow its Apple redemption link.
- Sign in with the Apple Account that should receive the trial.
- Read the displayed end date, renewal price and eligibility text before accepting.
- Repeat the process separately for any other service shown as eligible.
On Target.com, sign in and select Target Circle from the account interface. These are the current general Circle paths, not proof that the 2021 Apple offers are still present.
Target’s documented app path and current account navigation are the best references if a live offer appears.

What happens when a trial ends?
Expect a paid subscription to begin after a promotional period unless the applicable Apple offer says otherwise and you cancel in time. Comparable Apple promotional terms warn about automatic renewal, and the Apple Arcade offer page currently displays a post-trial monthly charge. Treat the price shown on your own confirmation screen as controlling: the accessed Arcade page displayed $6.99 per month, but that is not a historical Target price or a universal price for every country and service.
- Save the confirmation showing each service’s renewal date and price.
- Set a reminder several days before every renewal.
- On an Apple device, check Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Cancel unwanted services individually; cancelling one does not necessarily cancel the others.
- Check whether the subscription is billed by Apple or another provider and whether cancellation preserves access through the paid-through date.
Apple’s comparable terms also say promotional offers may not be combined with other promotions. Do not assume the Target trials stack with an existing free trial, an active plan or Apple One.

What if iCloud storage is downgraded?
A temporary move to 50GB can create a storage problem when the trial ends. Before cancelling, review Photos, device backups and iCloud Drive. If your stored data exceeds the lower tier after downgrade, you may need to delete data or continue paying for storage. Apple’s current support documentation should be used for the exact downgrade behavior applicable to your account.

Apple One bundles Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud+ in one recurring subscription, with plan variants offering different storage amounts. Separate Target trials are useful when you want to test services independently; Apple One is simpler when you intend to keep several of them continuously.
- Choose separate trials when you want flexibility or only one or two services.
- Consider Apple One when you already use multiple included services every month.
- Compare the real post-trial total: free months do not guarantee that Apple One will cost less afterward.
- Check account interactions: existing Apple One subscribers should review the displayed terms rather than assuming every individual trial will stack.
Apple’s Apple One description lists the included services and plan differences. Official service pages are Apple One, Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud.

Check these items before accepting any current offer
- The offer is visible in your own Target Circle account.
- An expiration date and eligible country are shown.
- The service name and exact free duration are stated.
- Your Apple Account has not used a conflicting trial or subscription.
- The intended Apple Account—not a family member’s or another login—will be billed.
- The required payment method and post-trial price are clear.
- The iCloud tier is specifically identified as 50GB or another amount.
If the offer is missing or Apple says you are ineligible
The Target offer does not appear
It may have expired, been withdrawn, been limited to selected accounts or regions, or require a fully enrolled Circle account. Target says Circle offers and bonuses can vary by account, expire and be withdrawn. Confirm that you are using the correct Target login and check the account’s partner-offer area.
The Apple redemption link rejects you
Likely causes include an active subscription, prior use of a similar trial, an Apple Account mismatch, an already-redeemed offer or regional limits. Creating duplicate accounts to bypass an eligibility rule can cause billing and Family Sharing complications and is not a safe workaround.
The period is shorter than expected
“Up to six months” was never a promise of six months for every service or every user. Redemption date, existing subscription status, service-specific rules and the offer’s expiration can change the effective period. Save a screenshot of the confirmation page.
Why Target and Apple partnered
The services promotion arrived alongside a broader retail relationship. In February 2021, Target announced expanded Apple shopping areas, a larger Apple assortment, Apple-trained staff and online Apple destinations. The timing indicates that the trials were part of a wider customer and retail partnership, rather than merely a standalone coupon.

The Bottom Line
The headline is legitimate, but it describes a June 2021 Target Circle promotion: four months of Apple Music, Apple TV+, and 50GB iCloud storage, plus up to six months of Apple Arcade. As of August 2026, Target’s generic Apple partner-perk language is not confirmation that those trials are still available. Only a live offer in your Circle account, with current terms and a stated renewal price, can establish eligibility.
