It blends science fiction, horror and action, with Linda Hamilton, Max Martini and Brianna Hildebrand among its cast. Whether its style and tactical-action emphasis overcome its rough edges is the key question for viewers deciding whether to watch.
What is Osiris about?
Directed by William Kaufman, Osiris follows Special Forces commandos abducted mid-operation by a mysterious spacecraft. They wake in an unfamiliar setting and face a hostile alien race. Disney+’s synopsis says they join a mysterious woman; Rotten Tomatoes identifies the survivors’ leader as Anya, played by Linda Hamilton. The setup promises an action-forward survival story with an alien-abduction premise rather than a slow-burn mystery.
Disney+ lists the film at 1 hour 47 minutes; the BBFC gives an approximate running time of 108 minutes. Those listings are close but not identical, so viewers may see a slight difference depending on the service or listing. Disney+ · BBFC

Does the action make it worth watching?
The most specific critical signal available points to grounded, tactical action and performances from Martini, Hamilton and Garrett as aspects worth attention. That is a single critic’s assessment, not proof that the action or performances work equally well for every viewer. Still, it suggests the film’s appeal may rest less on reinventing alien-invasion storytelling and more on the contrast between a trained military team and a threat they cannot control.
That contrast also sets up the film’s central challenge: commandos can apply discipline and tactics, but an unfamiliar environment and alien enemy can make their usual advantages unreliable. For viewers who like combat-oriented science fiction, that premise offers a clear reason to give the movie a chance. Those looking for a tightly surprising story or consistently smooth execution may be less persuaded.

Rotten Tomatoes displayed a 50% Tomatometer from 18 reviews and a 47% Popcornmeter from 100+ ratings when accessed in 2026. These are snapshots of that site’s critics’ and users’ scores, not a stable or universal verdict on the film.
Simon Abrams of RogerEbert.com, in an excerpt reproduced by Rotten Tomatoes, wrote: “It’s never surprising nor smooth enough to warrant more than qualified praise, but ‘Osiris’ will make you sit up and ask: ‘Wait, who made this?’” The excerpt captures the tension in the film’s reception: it can make an impression, especially through its action, without escaping reservations about surprise and smoothness. Is Osiris worth watching?
If you want an alien-abduction action movie built around soldiers fighting to survive, Osiris has a straightforward genre hook and a cast that includes Linda Hamilton and Max Martini. The available critical signal is mixed rather than broadly enthusiastic, with qualified praise for grounded action alongside concerns about how surprising and smooth the film is. It is a reasonable pick for viewers drawn to tactical science fiction and survival horror, but not an assured choice for anyone whose priority is an unusually coherent or inventive story.
