The Marvel Rivals Season 1 trailer, published January 6, 2025, introduced Eternal Night Falls: a supernatural New York crisis caused by Dracula and Doctor Doom, with the Fantastic Four joining the fight. The season was announced to begin January 10, 2025, at 1 a.m. PST.
What happens in the Eternal Night Falls trailer?
The story begins with the fallout from the Timestream Entanglement. Doctor Strange is trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane, and pages of the Darkhold are scattered. With Strange absent, Dracula exploits the dark power of Chronovium. Working with Doctor Doom, he disrupts the moon’s orbit and brings it to a halt, plunging New York into eternal night and unleashing vampiric creatures.
The Fantastic Four join the other heroes to confront the crisis. The official trailer frames their response around science, while NetEase’s season announcement adds that Scarlet Witch eventually rescues Doctor Strange. The publisher summed up the stakes: “With New York City at the brink of supernatural collapse, the heroes turn to science for a solution.”
