Lady Gabriella Windsor is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. She is connected to the British royal family but was described by ITV in 2024 as not a working member of it. She married financier Thomas Kingston at Windsor Castle in 2019; after his death in February 2024, a Gloucestershire coroner concluded at an inquest that he had taken his own life while suffering adverse effects from recently prescribed medication.

Who is Lady Gabriella Windsor?

Lady Gabriella Marina Alexandra Ophelia Kingston, known publicly as Lady Gabriella Windsor, is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. Her parents appear on the official Royal Family list dated May 2024, while Gabriella is not named on that list. That distinction reflects her status as a royal family relation rather than a working royal carrying out official duties.

ITV’s 2024 profile described her as a writer and contributing editor. It also reported that she had worked as an arts and travel director for a brand company. Those descriptions belong to reporting published in 2024; the available sources do not establish her current employer, role or projects.

Her music

Gabriella has also been described as a singer-songwriter. ITV reported that she released two bossa-nova-inspired tracks in 2020 to raise money for charity. The sources available here do not confirm further releases or current musical activity.

Lady Gabriella and Thomas Kingston

Gabriella married Thomas Kingston in 2019 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle. ITV reported that Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh attended the wedding. Kingston was a financier and a familiar figure within the extended royal circle, but he was not a working royal.

Thomas Kingston’s death and the coroner’s finding

Kingston died in February 2024. In December 2024, Gloucestershire senior coroner Katy Skerrett recorded a narrative conclusion at Gloucestershire Coroner’s Court. As reported by The Guardian, Skerrett said: “Mr Kingston took his own life … The evidence of his wife, family and business partner all supports his lack of suicidal intent. He was suffering adverse effects of medication he had recently been prescribed.”

This is the coroner’s finding in this individual inquest, not a general medical conclusion. The hearing reports said Kingston had initially been prescribed sertraline and zopiclone, was later moved from sertraline to citalopram, and had stopped taking medication in the days before his death. Those details describe the evidence in this case and should not be treated as advice about antidepressants, sleeping medication or stopping treatment.

Lady Gabriella’s statement

A statement from Lady Gabriella read at the inquest included the words: “If this could happen to Tom, this could happen to anyone.” Her comment appeared in coverage of the hearing alongside the coroner’s account and evidence from family members and a business partner.

How the royal family responded

After Kingston’s death, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said that the King and Queen had been informed and joined Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and others in grieving “a much-loved member of the family.” Kingston’s family described him as “an exceptional man who lit up the lives of all who knew him.”

What is known about Gabriella now?

The documented material establishes her family background, her 2019 marriage, the 2024 reporting about her writing, editorial, arts-and-travel and music work, and her role as Kingston’s widow. It does not verify her current employment, new music, public schedule or official royal duties. Claims about her present activities therefore require newer confirmation from a primary or current source.

The Bottom Line

Lady Gabriella Windsor is a non-working member of the extended royal family, a writer and musician described in 2024 reporting, and the widow of Thomas Kingston. His death and the December 2024 inquest should be understood through the coroner’s case-specific conclusion, reported with appropriate care.
