That does not mean Fallon presented every technical detail. Google Devices and Services executive Rick Osterloh and other specialists also appeared. Fallon was the show’s host; Google’s executives and engineers remained responsible for the product announcements and technical explanations.

Why did Google use a celebrity host?
Google did not publish a detailed explanation of its casting strategy in the sources available for this event. It is therefore safer to treat the rationale as analysis rather than confirmed company policy.
Fallon’s television background gave Google a familiar entertainment format and a presenter recognizable well beyond the technology press. The approach also allowed Google to demonstrate features through jokes, conversations and everyday scenarios instead of relying only on specifications.

A traditional Google hardware keynote generally places executives and product managers at the center. Made by Google ’25 retained those technical voices but wrapped them in an entertainment-led format. That made the event notable not only as a Pixel launch, but also as an example of consumer-tech marketing becoming more like a television production.
