The Iowa State–Miami Pop-Tarts Bowl was played on December 28, 2024, so there is no live broadcast to watch now. The game originally aired nationally on ABC at 3:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. CT). If you are looking for the archived matchup, check the official ESPN Watch page; if a full replay is unavailable, use the official highlights and team game pages linked below.
Quick answer
- Game: Iowa State Cyclones vs. Miami Hurricanes
- Date: Saturday, December 28, 2024
- Original broadcast: ABC
- Kickoff: 3:30 p.m. ET / 2:30 p.m. CT
- Venue: Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida
- Result: Iowa State won 42–41
When the game was live, viewers without cable needed either a digital antenna receiving their local ABC affiliate or a live-TV streaming service carrying local ABC. ESPN+ should not be assumed to have been a substitute for the ABC broadcast.
How to watch the replay now
- Open the official ESPN Watch page for the matchup.
- If ESPN offers a replay or re-air, follow its sign-in instructions. The page may require authentication through a participating TV provider, and availability can change.
- If a full replay is not available, watch the official ESPN College Football highlights.
- For the final score, statistics, and game details, use the Iowa State game center or Miami’s official box score.
Where the game originally aired
The official ESPN bowl schedule listed Iowa State–Miami as an ABC broadcast. ESPN produced and distributed the college-football coverage, but that does not mean every ESPN-branded digital product carried the game without restrictions.
The ESPN schedule announcement gives the national listing and 3:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff. Iowa State’s official bowl primer listed ABC and the local 2:30 p.m. Central start time.

How viewers could watch without cable
Option 1: Use an antenna for local ABC
A digital antenna was the lowest-cost legal option for viewers within reliable reception range of their local ABC station. It did not require internet service or a recurring subscription.
Reception depends on your location, terrain, building materials, antenna placement, and the strength of the local broadcast signal. Check a local reception map before buying equipment, then scan for channels and test the signal in advance. An antenna cannot provide an on-demand replay after the game has ended.

Option 2: Subscribe to a live-TV streaming service
Services such as YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, Fubo, DIRECTV STREAM, and, in eligible markets, Sling TV may carry local ABC stations. Availability is market-specific, so enter your ZIP code on the provider’s channel-lineup page before subscribing.
Confirm all of the following before signing up:
- Your exact local ABC affiliate is included.
- The selected plan includes the channel without an unexpected add-on.
- The final price, taxes, fees, DVR limits, and simultaneous-stream rules.
- Whether any promotional rate expires and whether you qualify for a trial.
- That the service supports your television, streaming device, phone, or browser.
A provider advertising ABC nationally does not guarantee that the affiliate serving your ZIP code is available. Local carriage agreements can also change.

Option 3: Use existing ESPN or TV-provider credentials
The official ESPN Watch page may provide a digital replay or related listing. Open the event page and sign in if prompted. A page showing the matchup is not necessarily a free stream; network content may require authentication through a participating TV provider.
Was ESPN+ enough?
Do not assume that an ESPN+ subscription alone was sufficient. The official game listings identified ABC as the television network. ABC, the Watch ESPN or ESPN app, and ESPN+ are separate access routes:

- ESPN+: A separate subscription service. Its inclusion of a particular broadcast must be confirmed from the current first-party event listing; ESPN-produced does not automatically mean ESPN+.
For this archived game, buying ESPN+ solely to find the replay is not a guaranteed solution. Check the official listing first.

ABC is missing from the streaming lineup
Confirm that you entered the correct ZIP code and that the plan includes your local affiliate. If the station is unavailable, an antenna may work if your location receives a strong signal.

The game is blacked out or unavailable
Check location permissions, disable browser location blocking, and verify that the provider has your correct service address. Local rights and affiliate restrictions can affect access. A VPN may interfere with location verification and should not be treated as the primary fix.
The ESPN page asks for a provider login
This can be normal for network programming. Use qualifying credentials if you have them, or look for the official highlights and team game pages instead.
The replay has disappeared
Archived listings and replays can be removed or replaced after the broadcast window. If the ESPN page no longer offers the full game, use the official highlights and the teams’ official game information.

For future ABC college-football games
The best option depends on how you watch:
- Antenna: Best for the lowest ongoing cost when local reception is strong.
- Live-TV streaming service: Best if you want ABC plus other live channels, but verify the local lineup and current terms.
- ESPN digital access: Useful for authenticated ESPN programming and replays, but not automatically a replacement for ABC.
Do not rely on unauthorized restreams or suspicious “free live TV” pages. They can disappear without warning and may expose viewers to security risks.
