Liverpool is the beauty capital of Britain, and it’s easy to see why. From gyms to training salons and even “cosmetic surgeons,” the city has six times more of these than anywhere else in the country. It’s home to a variety of beauty enthusiasts who use everything from intravenous tanning solutions to steroids, and this diversity is captured in a new documentary called ‘VICE Special’.
The VICE Special was filmed over 10 months starting in March 2010 throughout Liverpool City Centre. During filming, viewers were introduced to many different characters that make up Europe’s beauty capital, like Carolyn, an avid tanned who injects herself with chemicals to darken her skin. We also meet the self-proclaimed “King of Bling,” a celebrity hairstylist who knows how to style anyone for any occasion.
This documentary provides viewers with an inside look at Liverpool’s unique culture around beauty and fashion. Through an intimate portrait of each character featured in VICE Special, you’ll get a glimpse into a world that is rarely seen by most people outside the city limits. Whether you’re interested in learning more about beauty trends or are just curious about life in Liverpool, this documentary promises something for everyone. So don’t miss out on your chance to take a peek inside one of Britain’s most beautiful cities!
