The Battle of Stalingrad, fought between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union from 1942-1943, is a defining moment in history. It is remembered for being one of the most costly battles ever fought with well over 1 million casualties. It was also the first major defeat that Nazi Germany suffered during World War II and marked a turning point in the conflict.
60 years after this epic battle, BROADVIEW TV and ZDF produced an award-winning documentary about the fall of Germany’s Sixth Army at Stalingrad. This three-part series offers an in-depth exploration into what happened during those long months of battle, beginning with Hitler’s insistence on taking the city and ending with the crushing defeat inflicted by the Soviet Union. The documentary was nominated for an International Emmy Award in 2003, highlighting its quality and impact.
