When Amazon started as a company, Jeff Bezos had an idea of selling books online. It is hard to imagine that even he thought Amazon would become the empire it is today.
He is not only the richest man in the world, but also built the business that is without precedent in the history of American capitalism.
In January 2019, Amazon reported $232.9 billion in revenue for 2018, which was 31% up from a year ago. It was also the first time Amazon cracked $200 billion in annual sales.
