In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, as quoted by TheWrap, Jennings said: “It took me off guard, because I loved working with my Mayim and I’m going to miss her.” He added that he could not speak to “her decision-making process or her opinions about it.”

Why Sony said Bialik was leaving the syndicated show
Bialik announced on December 15, 2023, that Sony had told her she would no longer host the syndicated version of Jeopardy! Sony Pictures Television said it had decided to use one host for the following syndicated season “to maintain continuity for our viewers,” and named Jennings as that host. The company thanked Bialik for her contributions and expressed hope of working with her on primetime specials.
That was Sony’s public explanation. Jennings did not offer a separate account of the company’s decision or claim to know Bialik’s thinking. TheWrap reported conflicting comments from unnamed sources about whether Bialik’s social-media activity played a role; those accounts do not establish the reason.

How Bialik and Jennings came to share hosting duties
ABC News reported that Bialik and Jennings began officially co-hosting during Jeopardy!’s 39th season, after executive producer Michael Davies named them co-hosts in July 2022. The two had also hosted different formats: the Associated Press reported that Bialik was the solo host for the first season of Celebrity Jeopardy!.
The December 2023 announcement concerned the syndicated program’s hosting plan for the next season. Sony’s statement left open the possibility of Bialik hosting primetime specials, but did not promise a particular future assignment.
