A Netflix gift code is the redemption number attached to a prepaid Netflix streaming gift card. Entering it at netflix.com/redeem adds the card’s value to a Netflix account as gift balance. Netflix uses that balance for membership charges until it runs out.
It is not a free Netflix password, an unlimited-access voucher, or normally a cash-equivalent coupon. Also make sure you have the right product: a Netflix.com streaming card and a Netflix Shop e-gift card are separate.

Netflix gift card, gift code, and gift balance: the difference
- Gift card: The prepaid physical or digital product you buy.
- Gift code or PIN: The number entered to redeem the card.
- Gift balance: The value credited to the Netflix account after redemption.
- Promo code: A separate promotional offer that is not interchangeable with every gift card.
On a physical card, the code is usually under a scratch-off panel. A digital card includes it in an email; some retailers put it on a receipt or send it by SMS.

A standard Netflix.com gift card pays for a Netflix streaming membership. It does not pay for Netflix Shop merchandise, Netflix House purchases, or another streaming service.

How to redeem a Netflix streaming gift code
If you already have Netflix
- Type https://www.netflix.com/redeem into your browser, or navigate from Netflix.com.
- Enter the code or PIN and select Redeem.
- Enter the email address associated with your Netflix account if requested.
- Confirm that the gift balance was added. It will normally be used for the next eligible membership payment.
If you are a new member
- Open the same redemption page and enter the code.
- Provide an email address and create or continue setting up the account.
- Choose a plan and create a password.
- Add a payment method for service after the gift balance is depleted, or skip it if Netflix permits that option for your signup.
Netflix’s gift-card guidance is the authority if the screens differ by country or account type.
How long does a Netflix gift code last?
Netflix says its gift cards do not expire. They are non-refundable and cannot be reloaded. “Does not expire” does not make an unactivated retailer card, an already-redeemed code, or a fraudulently obtained code usable.
The code represents a money value, not a guaranteed number of months. A practical estimate is:
Approximate service time = available gift balance ÷ the account’s effective recurring charge.

Plan price, taxes or fees where applicable, a plan change, and a partial final month can all alter the result. Netflix treats any displayed depletion date as an estimate because charges can change.
Using the balance on an existing account
You can generally add a card to an existing Netflix account. Netflix uses the gift balance before another eligible payment source, and says it sends an email reminder seven days before the balance runs out. If you cancel after redeeming the card, you can generally keep watching until the prepaid balance is exhausted; the card remains non-refundable.

You can redeem multiple cards at netflix.com/redeem. Netflix consumes them in redemption order. If one card does not cover a complete charge, the next may supply the remainder, which can appear as two gift-card charges.
Checking the remaining balance
Use Netflix’s redemption page to enter the code and view the balance. After redemption, look under the account’s Billing Details or Membership area; labels vary by country, account state, and interface version.
Country, currency, and billing restrictions
Netflix states that a card purchased in another country can be used when its currency matches the currency of the Netflix bill. Physical location alone is not the rule. Moving countries can also create account-location or transfer problems; Netflix says a gift-card-paid balance is non-refundable and cannot simply be transferred to a new account in the current country in the cited location-error guidance.

Gift cards may not apply while an account is billed through Apple or receives Netflix through a partner package. Apple-billed members generally need to cancel, wait for the account to close, and restart with the gift balance. If Netflix is included in a package, save the card for later or use it on another eligible account. A gift code also cannot be applied to an extra-member account paid for by someone else.
Why a Netflix gift code may not work

Are “free Netflix gift codes” real?
Legitimate Netflix codes represent purchased value. Treat “free code generators,” lists of working codes, survey pages, and social-media forms as unverified and suspicious. Never give a code to someone claiming to be Netflix support, a government official, an employer, a landlord, or a romantic contact. Do not enter it on a site that asks for your Netflix password or payment details to “activate” it.
Buy through Netflix’s official gift-card page or a clearly authorized retailer. Inspect packaging, keep the receipt, and do not photograph or post an unused code. Netflix specifically advises sharing the serial number or code only with the intended recipient.
Is a Netflix gift code worth giving?
It is a good fit when the recipient already pays for Netflix or wants to start an account, and when you know the recipient’s billing currency. It can avoid asking for card details and provides a controlled entertainment budget.

The trade-offs are important: it is restricted to Netflix, usually cannot be refunded, does not promise a fixed number of months, and may not work with Apple billing, bundles, extra-member accounts, or a different currency. If the recipient wants merchandise rather than streaming, buy a Netflix Shop e-gift card instead; the Shop currently lists digital denominations such as $10, $25, $50, and $100 on its product page, but those funds are merchandise-only.

Do Netflix gift cards expire?

Netflix may allow a new member to skip adding another payment method, but you need another card or accepted payment method to continue after the gift balance runs out.

Can I use a card bought in another country?
Netflix’s stated rule is that the card currency must match the currency of the Netflix bill. A different country or account move can create additional restrictions.
Can I use one with Apple billing?

Can I get a refund?
