What time did the 2026 Golden Globes start?
The ceremony was scheduled for three hours, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and ending at 11:00 p.m. Eastern. The equivalent start and end times were:
- Eastern: 8:00–11:00 p.m.
- Central: 7:00–10:00 p.m.
- Mountain: 6:00–9:00 p.m.

The event took place on Sunday, January 11, 2026. “Tonight” was accurate only for viewers looking for the ceremony on that date; the live event is no longer airing.
Can you watch the Golden Globes on Paramount+?
Yes—but the plan mattered. The live U.S. stream was available through Paramount+ Premium, a name that official Golden Globes materials also described as Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. The live stream used the local CBS feed where available.
Paramount+ Essential did not include the live ceremony. Essential subscribers could access the ceremony on demand beginning Monday, January 12, 2026, rather than watching the CBS broadcast live.

How to watch without cable
Use a digital antenna
A digital antenna was the simplest no-cable route if your home could receive the local CBS broadcast signal. The broadcast itself did not require a monthly subscription, although an antenna may involve a one-time equipment cost and reception depends on location, building materials, and distance from the station.
Use Paramount+ Premium
For viewers who wanted an internet stream rather than an antenna, Paramount+ Premium or the equivalent Paramount+ with SHOWTIME tier was the direct streaming option for the live ceremony. Was there a free way to watch?
There were two possible meanings of “free”:
- Antenna: A local CBS signal could be watched without a monthly television subscription, provided you already had suitable equipment and reception.
- Promotional trial: A seven-day Paramount+ Premium trial was reported for eligible new and returning subscribers around the January 2026 broadcast. Trial eligibility and post-trial pricing are not permanent, and trials may automatically renew unless canceled under the provider’s terms.
A contemporaneous report listed a then-current Paramount+ price of $12.99 per month or $119.99 per year after the trial, but those were time-sensitive January 2026 terms, not a current price guarantee. Check the provider directly before signing up. Some live-TV streaming services also offered trials, with varying eligibility and cancellation conditions.
When did the Golden Globes red carpet start?
Red-carpet programming began before the CBS ceremony, but it was separate from the awards show:

Golden Eve was not the main awards ceremony

The special honored Helen Mirren with the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Sarah Jessica Parker with the Carol Burnett Award. The competitive 83rd Golden Globes ceremony followed on January 11. The two programs should not be confused.
