The Sony Super Bowl LIX promotion was a historical, limited-time U.S. deal reported on February 6, 2025—not a current offer. Techlicious reported discounts of up to $500 on selected BRAVIA televisions, soundbars and home-theater products. TV and main audio prices ended February 9, 2025; two 4K Blu-ray-player offers reportedly ran through February 16, 2025. As of August 2026, current stock, prices and any successor promotion have not been verified.
The original report was tied to Super Bowl LIX on February 9, 2025. It did not provide a complete retailer-by-retailer breakdown, so the figures below should be read as prices reported by Techlicious on February 6, 2025, not as independently confirmed prices that remain available. Tax, shipping, installation, inventory and regional restrictions may have changed the final cost.

The X90L section in the original report contained a size-label error: its listed prices were for 85-inch and 65-inch televisions, not 55-inch and 85-inch models.
Which reported TV deal suited each room?
BRAVIA 8 OLED: contrast and wide seating angles
Techlicious described the 2024 BRAVIA 8 as an OLED with per-pixel lighting, deep blacks, broad viewing angles, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG and a 120Hz refresh rate. Those characteristics make the 65-inch and 77-inch versions logical choices for movie-focused rooms or gatherings where guests sit well off center. The 77-inch model also puts more image area in a large room, which can be more useful than choosing a smaller, brighter television.

- SOUND STRAIGHT FROM CINEMA: Experience authentic cinema surround sound in your living room. Dolby Atmos and DTS:X create an immersive multi-dimensional soundscape that brings movies to life with the creator’s intent.
- CENTER SPEAKER FOR CLEAR DIALOGUE: Catch every word in the scene with a dedicated center channel speaker that ensures voices remain clear across all content.
- WIRELESS SUBWOOFER INCLUDED: A powerful wireless subwoofer with a large 160mm speaker unit delivers a deeper, richer bass sound.
- SOUND FROM ABOVE: Experience sound positioned in vertical space with Sony's Vertical Surround Engine, no in-ceiling or up-firing speakers needed.
- SOUNDS FROM SIDES: Hear a wide surround field using only front speakers with digital S-Force Pro.
OLED is not automatically the best choice for a sunlit room. Mini LED or other LCD designs can provide a more forceful daytime image, and buyers who display static graphics for very long periods should consider OLED’s long-term static-content considerations. The reported prices were historical and do not establish a current bargain.
BRAVIA 7 Mini LED: the bright-room compromise
The reported 55-inch BRAVIA 7 price was $1,199.99 after a $500 reduction. Techlicious characterized it as a Mini LED/QLED television aimed at high brightness and strong HDR impact. That makes it a better fit than OLED for substantial ambient light or afternoon football viewing, while retaining more sophisticated contrast control than a basic LED set.
Mini LED can still show blooming around bright objects, and its black control is not the same as OLED’s per-pixel lighting. The unusually high price relative to some larger televisions also means shoppers should weigh screen size against brightness and picture refinement.

- IMMERSIVE SURROUND SOUND: S-Force PRO Front Surround and Dolby Digital create cinematic style surround sound.
- ENJOY CLEAR DIALOGUE AND POWERFUL SOUND: Powerful audio technology, such as the X-Balanced Speaker Unit and Separated Notch Edge, works to deliver wide-ranging sound and enhanced vocal clarity.
- SIMPLE & EASY OPERATION: The simple, compact remote control and convenient OLED display window make operation a breeze.
- WIRELESS SUBWOOFER INCLUDED: A powerful wireless subwoofer with a large 160mm speaker unit delivers a deeper, richer bass sound.
- EASY WIRELESS CONNECTION: Flexible layout and wireless connection to compatible BRAVIA TVs minimizes cable clutter.
BRAVIA XR X90L: large-screen value
The X90L was reported at $1,599.99 for 85 inches and $999.99 for 65 inches. Techlicious described the series as a 120Hz, full-array-local-dimming LCD. The 85-inch model is compelling when a party room, long seating distance or many off-axis viewers make sheer image size the priority. Full-array dimming should provide stronger contrast than a basic edge-lit LCD, although it cannot deliver OLED-level black control.

The 65-inch version is easier to fit in an ordinary living room. Because X90L is a 2023 series, a discount may reflect clearance or aging inventory rather than an unusually low market price. An 85-inch set also requires careful delivery planning, two-person handling and a suitable stand or wall.
BRAVIA 3: the lowest reported 85-inch entry
The 85-inch BRAVIA 3 was listed at $1,199.99, $400 below its reported regular price. Its appeal is straightforward: a very large 4K Google TV for less than the reported 85-inch X90L. Size alone does not indicate equal picture quality. The BRAVIA 3 is positioned below the BRAVIA 7, BRAVIA 8 and X90L, so buyers should expect compromises in local dimming, HDR impact, motion handling and contrast.

Audio deals: soundbar or true surround?
BRAVIA Theater Bar 8
The Bar 8 was reported at $699.99, down $150, and described as a 5.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar with a wireless subwoofer. It is the practical middle ground for a small or medium room: fewer components than a speaker system, but bass without immediately purchasing a separate subwoofer. Confirm the exact SKU, included subwoofer, HDMI/eARC connections and accessories because package contents can vary by market.
BRAVIA Theater Bar 9
The Bar 9 was listed at $999.99, a $400 reduction, and described as a 9.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos soundbar with up-firing and side-firing drivers. It suits buyers who want a premium single-bar installation rather than rear speakers and a receiver. The report labeled it “soundbar only,” so do not assume a subwoofer or wireless rear speakers were included.
Rank #4
- 5.1CH SURROUND SOUND: Hear cinematic surround sound and deep bass with 3 front-firing speakers, two rear speakers, and included subwoofer.
- SOUND STRAIGHT FROM CINEMA: Get the best streaming experience with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
- CLEAR DIALOGUE: Catch every word in the scene with dedicated center channel speaker.
- ROOM FILLING SOUND: Multi Stereo enhances your listening experience by playing the same sound from all speakers, creating a room-filling sound boost.
- BRAVIA THEATER AND BRAVIA TV, THE PERFECT PAIR: Pair with compatible BRAVIA TVs to control the soundbar from the TV menu and take advantage of Voice Zoom 3 for enhanced dialogue.
Up-firing and virtualized Atmos effects depend on ceiling height, wall proximity, room shape and seating position. They should not be treated as equivalent to a properly placed discrete-speaker system in every room.
BRAVIA Theater Quad
The Theater Quad was reported at $2,199.99 for the “quad only” speaker package, saving $300. It is a four-speaker wireless home-theater system using 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X—not a soundbar. Its potential advantage is a more enveloping layout, but it demands deliberate speaker placement and room calibration and is aimed at dedicated theater buyers rather than someone seeking a quick dialogue upgrade.
Because “quad only” identifies the speakers rather than a complete bundle, verify the control unit, accessories, compatible Sony television features, HDMI eARC requirements and firmware support before purchase.

Choosing for Super Bowl viewing
- Bright room: Favor the BRAVIA 7’s Mini LED approach when daytime brightness matters more than OLED’s absolute blacks.
- Dark room or movie use: The BRAVIA 8 OLED prioritizes contrast, black levels and off-axis viewing.
- Large party or long seating distance: The 85-inch X90L emphasizes image size while retaining full-array dimming.
- Lowest reported 85-inch price: The BRAVIA 3 offered the cheapest large-screen entry, with greater picture-quality compromises.
- Small or medium room audio: The Bar 8’s reported subwoofer bundle was the more practical one-box option.
- Premium soundbar setup: The Bar 9 provided the higher channel-count route, but the reported deal was for the bar alone.
- Dedicated surround system: The Theater Quad was the most ambitious and expensive choice, with placement and compatibility work to plan.
For sports, compare screen size with seating distance, motion performance, brightness, viewing angles, dialogue clarity, bass, HDMI 2.1 gaming support and installation logistics. Also check return, delivery, warranty and installation terms; none of those costs were included in the reported prices.
Other discounted products
The UBP-X800M2 and UBP-X700/M 4K Blu-ray players were peripheral additions to the television-and-soundbar promotion. Techlicious reported February 3–16, 2025 pricing of $279.99 and $199.99 respectively. Those offers also expired and should matter mainly to buyers who still maintain a physical 4K disc collection.
What shoppers can rely on now
The February 2025 figures are useful as an historical record, not as a live shopping guide. Sony’s official electronics storefront is electronics.sony.com, but a current product page must be checked for the exact model, size, stock, bundle, delivery charge, return policy and warranty. No current August 2026 Sony Super Bowl pricing is established here, and the historical report does not prove that every item was sold directly by Sony or nationwide.
Do not interpret Sony’s separate Super Bowl production announcements or later sweepstakes as evidence of this consumer discount. The relevant historical deal report remains Techlicious’ February 6, 2025 article.
