Paramount+ and FuboTV are not interchangeable services. Paramount+ is a relatively inexpensive on-demand streamer with selected live sports and, on Premium, a live local CBS stream. FuboTV is a full live-TV replacement built around sports, local stations, channel bundles and cloud DVR. Choose Paramount+ for shows, movies and a few specific sports rights; choose FuboTV when you need a cable-like lineup and regular live games.

What Paramount+ is—and is not
Paramount+ is primarily an on-demand library. Paramount describes its catalog as more than 40,000 episodes and movies, a first-party marketing figure that can include episodes and other programming units rather than 40,000 separate titles. Availability varies by plan, licensing rights, country and date.
What you can watch
- Paramount movies and television, including Paramount+ originals.
- CBS programming and selected live CBS content.
- SHOWTIME programming with Premium.
- BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Smithsonian Channel programming.
- Children’s profiles and family viewing options; Paramount support says the service supports up to six individual profiles, including kid profiles.
Essential is ad-supported and may not include every episode of some series. Premium removes ads from on-demand viewing, adds SHOWTIME, downloads, selected 4K/HDR titles and a live local CBS stream where available. Live television still contains commercials, and Paramount notes that plans can include trailers, sponsorships or similar promotional material.

What FuboTV is
FuboTV is a live-TV streaming bundle designed to replace cable or satellite. Instead of opening a single studio library, you use a channel guide, watch live broadcasts and record them to cloud DVR.
Channels and local stations
Fubo’s plans page advertised 210 channels for Pro, 274 for Elite and 299 for Deluxe when checked. Other Fubo pages showed slightly different counts, including 212, 275 and 276, so treat channel totals as provider-advertised figures at a particular time, not permanent lineup guarantees. Local ABC, CBS and FOX stations, regional sports networks and some other channels depend on your ZIP code.
Fubo’s support channel list includes Paramount Network in several plans. Paramount Network is a linear live-TV channel; Paramount+ is a separate streaming service. Seeing Paramount Network in Fubo does not automatically give every subscriber a standalone Paramount+ account.

Paramount promotes annual savings, but the retrieved signup page did not expose every annual total clearly enough to treat one as definitive. Use the current plan selector before paying.

Fubo’s other official landing pages displayed different recurring figures, including $64.99 for Pro and $88.99 for Elite. That variation can reflect promotion, market, account status or fee treatment. Confirm the checkout total, the post-promotion price and any regional sports fee before subscribing. Fubo says prices can change, promotional pricing ends automatically unless canceled, and taxes or other fees may apply.
Sports: which service covers more?
Paramount+ sports
Paramount+ is useful when your priorities match Paramount and CBS rights:
- NFL games carried by CBS.
- UEFA Champions League.
- UFC live fights and related programming.
- A live local CBS station with Premium, subject to availability.
Those rights do not make Paramount+ a general sports-TV replacement. It does not provide the breadth of ESPN networks, regional sports networks and local sports coverage that a typical Fubo subscriber seeks.

Fubo is the stronger starting point for a sports-heavy household. Listed plans include ESPN Unlimited, and Fubo advertises local NBA, NHL and MLB games where available. Regional sports networks, local affiliates, national exclusivity and blackout rules all affect what you can actually watch. NFL RedZone is an add-on or part of higher bundles rather than an automatic entry-plan inclusion. Selected 4K sports content is available on higher tiers.

- Confirm the local affiliate and regional sports network carrying the games.
- Check blackout rules, national-network exclusivity and required add-ons.
- Add any regional sports fee to the recurring monthly cost.
Fubo pages observed regional sports fees ranging from $3.99 to $16.99 per month in examples. Those are page-observed signals, not a universal fee schedule.

Live TV, CBS and the Paramount naming trap
Paramount+ Essential is not a cable replacement. Premium’s live CBS stream is narrower than a package containing multiple local stations. Fubo can provide ABC, CBS and FOX in supported markets, but you must verify your ZIP code before canceling another provider.

Ads and “ad-free” expectations
Essential includes ads. Premium is described as ad-free for on-demand content, but live TV still has the commercials built into broadcasts and may include promotional trailers or sponsorship material. Fubo is live television, so commercial breaks are normal. Recording a Fubo program can let you skip through some commercials during playback, but skipping behavior is not guaranteed to be identical for every recording.
Devices and offline viewing
Paramount lists support for Android and iOS, Apple TV, Chromecast, Fire TV, LG, Samsung and Vizio smart TVs, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Roku, Xbox, Xfinity and Xumo devices. Which service should you choose?
Choose Paramount+ when
- You want the lower monthly cost.
- You mainly watch on-demand shows and movies.
- You specifically want Paramount+ originals, CBS, SHOWTIME or Nickelodeon.
- You want NFL on CBS, Champions League or UFC without a full live-TV bundle.
- You need offline downloads.
- You do not need a large live news, entertainment and sports lineup.
Choose FuboTV when
- You are replacing cable or satellite.
- Live sports are the main reason you subscribe.
- You need ESPN, local stations and a broad sports-channel lineup.
- You want cloud DVR for games and live television.
- Several household members watch different live channels.

- You have compared Fubo’s Paramount+ with SHOWTIME add-on against buying Paramount+ directly.

Can you get Paramount+ through Fubo?
Fubo’s support documentation lists Paramount+ with SHOWTIME as an add-on or as part of particular packages, alongside options such as STARZ, MGM+, Sports Plus with NFL RedZone, MLB.TV and NBA TV. Eligibility and the exact access experience depend on the Fubo plan and billing route. Do not assume every Fubo customer receives a full standalone Paramount+ subscription with identical app, download or account features.

If you only want Paramount+ shows and movies, buying Paramount+ directly is generally the more economical route because Fubo’s base service is a much larger live-TV expense. If you already need Fubo, compare the total add-on price with a direct Premium subscription before consolidating billing.

Paramount Network is a linear channel. Fubo lists it in several plans, while Paramount+ is the separate streaming app. Choose the service that carries the specific channel or program you want.
“I want every game from my team.”
Neither service should be recommended without checking the team, league, home market, local affiliate, regional sports network, blackout rules, national exclusivity, add-ons and regional sports fees. Rights vary by location and season.
“Fubo has Paramount+, so I do not need to compare.”
That wording can refer to Paramount Network, a Paramount+ with SHOWTIME add-on or another package—not necessarily a standalone Paramount+ subscription. Read the plan’s entitlement and billing details.

Other services worth comparing
The best alternative depends on the gap you are trying to fill. YouTube TV is a broad general-purpose live-TV option; Hulu + Live TV combines live channels with Hulu’s on-demand catalog; Sling TV offers a lower-cost, more customizable package but often narrower local coverage; DIRECTV Stream can be relevant for regional sports and larger channel bundles; Peacock can supplement NBCUniversal programming and selected sports; and ESPN or league-specific services may be better when you want one sport rather than a full channel bundle. Compare current rights, local availability, DVR rules and fees instead of relying on a headline price.
