Netflix’s July 2025 Games removals affected 22 mobile titles, including Hades, the full Monument Valley trilogy, Braid, Anniversary Edition and Death’s Door. This was a 2025 catalog change, not a new July 2026 announcement. The dates were not uniform worldwide: Netflix’s in-app notice was the most relevant guide to when each title would stop being playable in a given market.
The 22 games reported as leaving Netflix Games
Contemporaneous reports listed the following titles for removal in July 2025. Most were placed in a mid-July window, but exact dates could vary by title and market. Hades was reported to leave earlier.

Reports generally placed the main group around July 14 or 15. Those dates should not be treated as a single global deadline: Netflix’s app could show a different last-play date according to title and market. The full list is a snapshot of the July 2025 notices, not a statement about what is in Netflix’s catalog today. Engadget’s contemporaneous report and Gadgets 360’s list documented the removals.

What happened to Hades?
Netflix added Hades to its mobile-games catalog in March 2024. Netflix described the game as included with membership, without ads or in-app purchases. At the time, the Netflix edition was reported as available on iOS rather than across all mobile platforms. Reports placed its removal ahead of the other titles, with July 1 and July 2 both cited; local app notices are the safer reference than either date as a universal cutoff. A Netflix delisting is not the same as the game being discontinued everywhere. Players who want to continue after losing Netflix access would need a separate legitimate edition on a platform where it is available. Check the publisher or the platform storefront for current availability in your region. A Netflix save should not be assumed to transfer to a separately purchased copy.
How to check a game’s availability notice
Netflix’s Help Center says games leaving soon can be surfaced in My List. The current mobile-app path is:
- Open the Netflix app.
- Tap My Netflix.
- Tap My List.
- Choose the Games filter.
- Open the game and read its availability notice.
App labels and layout can change, and the catalog varies by country. For a specific title, rely on the notice displayed in your own Netflix app rather than assuming a date from a report applies everywhere. See Netflix’s instructions for managing My List.

What happens to game progress?
Save handling depends on the game. Netflix says games that support cloud saves store progress on the Netflix profile. If a membership ends, Netflix retains that data for a limited time; games without cloud-save support may store progress only on the device. Deleting the profile that holds game data can permanently erase it. These rules do not promise that a save will carry over to a standalone edition. Netflix’s save-data guidance describes the distinctions.

If you were still playing one of the affected games, the practical steps were to check its in-app deadline, finish what you could before that date, and review the game’s save support before changing profiles or devices. Removal from Netflix did not itself establish that an installed copy would remain playable afterward.
Why did Netflix remove the games?
Netflix has said games, like films and series, come and go from the service. The removals were substantial catalog pruning, including several recognizable releases, but the available reporting does not establish that any particular game was removed because it was unpopular or unprofitable.
Coverage also described changes in Netflix’s games organization and studios. Those details provide business context, but they do not prove that the company was abandoning games. The narrower conclusion supported by the July 2025 removals is that Netflix was reshaping its catalog and licensing mix.
