Xumo’s channel lineup dated August 15, 2025 listed SNL Vault and Top Chef Vault; availability can vary by device and market. Amazon Freevee and Xumo Play were named as launch distribution partners, but the original announcement is not proof that every channel remains on both services today.
These are FAST channels—scheduled, cable-like streams funded by advertising—not free replacements for Peacock, Bravo’s current-season service or complete episode libraries.
What NBCUniversal announced
On June 29, 2023, NBCUniversal announced a portfolio of free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels built from NBC, Bravo, E!, NBC Sports, CNBC, Telemundo and Universal library programming. Amazon Freevee and Xumo Play were identified as initial distribution partners, with Xumo Enterprise providing technology and distribution support for third-party services.
The announcement covered entertainment, news, Spanish-language and sports offerings. It named past-season programming from Saturday Night Live, Top Chef, The Real Housewives franchises, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Little House on the Prairie, Murder, She Wrote and Saved by the Bell, alongside genre channels for sitcoms, action, crime, westerns and monster movies.

NBCUniversal’s announcement did not present one clearly defined official total for the portfolio. Nielsen described the plan as 48 FAST channels, while contemporary industry coverage referred to more than 20 channels in the initial rollout. Those figures may describe different phases or groupings, so they should not be read as 48 channels launching simultaneously.
What SNL Vault and Top Chef Vault contain
SNL Vault
The Comcast version of the release describes SNL Vault as a curated stream built around Saturday Night Live characters, sketches and hosts. It is not a live feed of current NBC broadcasts and should not be treated as a complete archive of every episode or sketch.
Top Chef Vault
Top Chef Vault is described as a rotating library of Top Chef programming. “Rotating” matters: the available seasons, episodes or segments can change, and the channel description does not promise every season or every episode on demand.
Both names describe programmed channels. A viewer may see a scheduled stream rather than a menu that lets them start any episode immediately.

Where to watch
Xumo Play
Xumo’s published lineup dated August 15, 2025 lists both SNL Vault and Top Chef Vault. Xumo describes Xumo Play as a free, ad-supported service with live channels and on-demand titles. You can access it at play.xumo.com and through supported mobile, television and streaming-device apps.
The lineup document carries an “Available on Select Devices” warning. A channel listed by Xumo may therefore be missing from a particular television, set-top box or app version. Xumo also publishes a separate lineup document with the same device-availability qualification.
Amazon Freevee
NBCUniversal’s June 2023 announcement named Amazon Freevee as a launch partner and said programming was expected during summer 2023. That establishes the announced distribution plan, not necessarily the channel placement you will see in Freevee now. Check Freevee’s current live-channel guide rather than assuming that every NBCUniversal channel remains there.
How to find the channels
- Open Xumo Play on the web, a supported television or a mobile device.
- Search for “SNL Vault” or “Top Chef Vault,” then check the live-channel result.
- Browse the live guide as well as the on-demand area; a search may return individual titles without exposing the linear channel.
- If a channel is absent, check whether your device and region are supported and whether the app is updated.
Menu names differ by platform. Xumo advertises access without a conventional subscription or login, but a device can still require its own account, app installation or internet connection.

What “free” means here
FAST stands for free ad-supported streaming television. The service does not require a traditional pay-TV package, but advertising funds the programming. Channels run on a schedule, like a cable network, and some services combine those streams with separate on-demand titles.
| What you want | What these channels provide | What they do not guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| Casual viewing | Free, scheduled NBCUniversal library programming with ads | Ad-free playback |
| SNL sampling | Curated characters, sketches and hosts | Current episodes or the complete archive |
| Top Chef viewing | A rotating channel of selected programming | Every season or episode on demand |
| Current NBC or Bravo shows | Occasional library or curated programming | Immediate access to current episodes, live sports or full premium catalogs |
Why this is not a Peacock or Bravo replacement
NBCUniversal’s language centers on past seasons, clips and curated library channels. The FAST offerings are therefore complementary. They do not establish free access to Peacock’s full on-demand catalog, Bravo’s current-season availability, NBC’s complete broadcast schedule, live sports or every Top Chef and SNL installment.
Common problems and practical fixes
“I found individual episodes but not Top Chef Vault.”
You may be viewing the on-demand catalog instead of the live guide. Search both areas and browse by channel. A title search is not always a channel search.
“The lineup lists the channel, but my television does not.”
Xumo’s select-device warning means availability can differ by television, streaming box, app version and region. The lineup may also have changed since the August 15, 2025 document was published. Update the app, check another supported device and look under reality, comedy or pop-culture categories rather than only an NBCUniversal heading.

“Can I watch current SNL episodes there?”
Do not count on it. The announced SNL Vault concept focuses on clips, characters, sketches and hosts, while the broader release refers to past-season programming.
“Can I binge every Top Chef season?”
No complete-season guarantee was made. The rotating-library description means that what is available can change with scheduling and licensing.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. The wider NBCUniversal FAST strategy
The 2023 initiative extended beyond these two brands. NBCUniversal described channels tied to The Real Housewives, comedy, crime, classic television, news and sports, including Telemundo entertainment and news services. Examples reported in the rollout included NBC Comedy Vault, Universal Crime and Dateline 24/7, but a 2023 list should not be treated as a guaranteed 2026 lineup.
For the most reliable status, use the platform’s current guide. The strongest later evidence available here is Xumo’s August 15, 2025 lineup listing SNL Vault and Top Chef Vault; it does not confirm identical availability on every Xumo product or on Freevee.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Xumo Play the same thing as Xumo TV?
Xumo Play is the free streaming service. Xumo TV refers to Xumo’s television interface and product ecosystem; channel availability can differ by device.
Do I need Peacock to watch these channels?
No subscription to Peacock is required for the FAST channels themselves, but Peacock or another service may be needed for current episodes and broader on-demand catalogs.
The Bottom Line
SNL Vault and Top Chef Vault are best understood as free, ad-supported ways to sample NBCUniversal library programming. Start with Xumo Play’s live guide, but expect rotating schedules, advertising and device-specific availability—not a complete replacement for Peacock, Bravo or current NBC programming.
