Meizu announced a One Piece-themed limited edition of its M6 Note in late September 2017, with sales scheduled to begin in China on September 25. It was a licensed design and software variant of the existing phone, not a new hardware platform. Meizu’s archived product page documents its themed finish and accessories, while contemporary coverage supplies the reported launch prices and configurations.
What Meizu announced—and when it was sold
The product was branded the Meizu M6 Note One Piece Limited Edition; its Chinese name, 魅蓝 Note6 航海王限定版, refers to a Meilan Note 6 One Piece limited edition. Meizu had introduced the regular M6 Note in Beijing on August 23, 2017, as noted in its launch announcement. Reports about the One Piece version appeared around September 20–21, and contemporary coverage said it was scheduled to go on sale in China on September 25, 2017 (Gizmochina; GizChina). The announcement and scheduled retail date are distinct; the available sources establish the latter as the planned sale date, not a verified first-sale transaction.
Meizu also presented a separate One Piece Limited Collector’s Edition. That distinction matters: the collector’s box and power bank were not documented as standard inclusions with every themed phone.
What changed on the phone
Red body and Straw Hat Pirates branding
Meizu’s archived One Piece product page shows a special red body with a customized One Piece logo on the rear, plus color treatments for the volume buttons, headphone port, mBack button and antenna lines. The front is black, with red accenting around the mBack/home button. Contemporary coverage described the rear Straw Hat Pirates mark as yellow; that color description comes from reporting rather than a separate specification from Meizu.

Flyme theme
The themed software included a One Piece boot animation, customized lock-screen wallpaper and an independently designed user interface, according to Meizu. Contemporary reporting also described pirate-themed icons, including imagery associated with a pocket watch, treasure chest and map; those examples should not be taken as a complete official icon inventory.
What came in the box
Meizu’s archived product page identifies customized packaging, a matching protective case, charger and SIM-eject tool. Contemporary coverage additionally described a red charging cable and red wall charger. These are the reported contents of the themed package; the wooden gift box and power bank belonged to the separately described collector’s edition.

The numbered collector’s package
Meizu described the One Piece Limited Collector’s Edition as a numbered run of 2,000 units, supplied in a customized wooden gift box with a 10,000mAh mobile power bank. That figure applies to the collector’s edition documented on Meizu’s page; it does not establish the total production quantity of all One Piece M6 Note phones.
Planned Zoro sword selfie sticks
Meizu also presented selfie sticks inspired by three swords associated with Zoro: Shusui (黑刀秋水), Wado Ichimonji (和道一文字) and Sandai Kitetsu (三代鬼彻). Its page said the Shusui version would launch alongside the phone and that the other two were still being prepared, so it would be inaccurate to say all three were available at the same time.

Hardware and reported configurations
The special edition retained the standard M6 Note’s core platform. Meizu’s specification page lists a 5.5-inch 1,920 × 1,080 display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4,000mAh battery, 12MP and 5MP rear cameras, 16MP front camera, and 18W fast charging. The phone has a hybrid dual-SIM/memory-card design, with microSD support up to 128GB. Meizu’s standard lineup included several RAM and storage combinations; the One Piece configurations reported at launch were narrower:
| One Piece configuration | Reported China launch price |
|---|---|
| 3GB RAM, 32GB storage | CNY 1,699 |
| 4GB RAM, 64GB storage | CNY 2,399 |
These are original Chinese launch prices reported in September 2017, not current resale values. Gizchina noted that the CNY 1,699 themed model had 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while a regular M6 Note at a comparable price could offer 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The premium was therefore for the licensed design, software and collectability rather than a faster processor or other major hardware upgrade. Contemporary reporting cited Android 7.1.2, but Meizu’s specification pages do not provide a full firmware-history record.

China-market release, not a current phone recommendation
The documented launch was in China; the available sources do not establish a global release. Meizu’s specification page lists network bands, but those alone do not confirm compatibility with a particular carrier, Google-service support or certification in another market. Anyone considering an imported example should check the exact model, firmware, SIM configuration and carrier bands rather than assume it will work like a locally sold phone.
The edition is best understood today as a 2017 collector’s device, not a supported modern Android phone. Meizu’s current store shows newer products rather than the One Piece M6 Note, and no current official price or active purchase listing is established by the available sources.

What collectors should verify on a used example
A listing titled “M6 Note One Piece” is not by itself proof of a complete or authentic edition. Meizu’s archived page provides a useful reference for the official design and package distinctions. Ask for clear photographs and verify:
- The red body and rear One Piece logo match the official product imagery.
- The themed boot animation, wallpaper and Flyme interface are present, if the seller claims original themed firmware.
- The seller identifies the RAM and storage configuration in the device settings, rather than relying on the listing title.
- The case, charger, cable and SIM tool are included if advertised as part of a complete themed package.
- For a claimed collector’s edition, photographs show the wooden box, its numbering and the 10,000mAh power bank.
- Box labels and accessories are photographed together with the phone so the claimed set can be assessed, not just the handset.
Used examples may be incomplete or described simply as a red M6 Note. A claim that a phone is one of 2,000 should be checked against the collector’s-edition distinction: Meizu’s documented number is for its numbered collector’s run, not a verified total for all themed phones.
