In the caption, she said he was “alive and well” and explained that he preferred to remain “undercover.” The post answered renewed questions about Desi Jr.’s whereabouts, but it was a 2024 update—not independent confirmation of his status in 2026.
What Lucie Arnaz posted
Lucie Arnaz Luckinbill posted the photograph on Instagram on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Reports described the image as showing Lucie and Desi Arnaz Jr. together during a family dinner in Las Vegas.
As quoted by E! News, Lucie wrote: “Desi is alive and well, my friends. Just likes to stay a bit ‘undercover.’” The wording was her caption as reproduced by news reports; the original Instagram post was not independently reviewed for this account.
Is Desi Arnaz Jr. alive?
Lucie said in that August 2024 caption that her brother was alive and well. That is the supported answer to the question prompted by the post. Because the statement dates from 2024, it should not be presented as a separate verification of Desi Jr.’s current status in 2026.

Desi Jr. has generally maintained a lower public profile than his famous parents and sister, which helps explain the attention given to the rare photograph.

Reports connected the siblings’ Las Vegas trip with STLV: The 58-Year Mission, a Star Trek convention. Yahoo Entertainment supplied that trip context, but did not establish that the family dinner itself was part of the convention.
Entertainment Tonight also reported the siblings’ outing and repeated Lucie’s reassurance. Coverage of the post appeared August 5–6, 2024.
