As of Monday, August 10, 2026, no specific Trump address to the nation has been officially scheduled for tonight. The White House livestream page currently says, “Stay tuned – we’ll be live again shortly,” but does not name a national address or provide a start time. The White House video library likewise lists routine videos rather than a confirmed primetime speech.
If an address is announced, the safest no-cost option is the official White House livestream at whitehouse.gov/live, followed by the official White House YouTube channel. You do not need cable or a paid-TV login to use those sources when the event is streamed there.
Status checked: Monday, August 10, 2026. This page uses the exact date rather than “tonight” because live-event search results can remain indexed after a speech has ended.
How to check whether Trump is actually speaking tonight
Do not rely on an old headline, a social-media screenshot or a search result that still says “tonight.” Before opening a stream, confirm all of the following:

- The venue, such as the Oval Office, East Room, Diplomatic Reception Room or Capitol.
- Whether the event is live, prerecorded or a replay.
At the time of this update, those details have not been published for a Trump national address on August 10. A White House page saying that it will be “live again shortly” is not, by itself, confirmation of a scheduled national speech.
Where to watch a confirmed address online for free
1. White House livestream
Best option: free with no cable or pay-TV subscription. Go to whitehouse.gov/live. When a presidential event is scheduled, this is the most direct official video source and avoids the need to sign up for a streaming-TV service.
Check that the page displays the correct date and event title. If it shows a countdown or placeholder, refresh shortly before the announced start time. If it is showing a different event or old footage, do not assume that the page is carrying the current address.
2. Official White House YouTube channel
Free and convenient on phones, computers and many smart TVs. Open the official White House YouTube channel and select the live event labeled with the correct date and speech title. An event listing may not appear until shortly before airtime.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteYouTube can be easier than an embedded government player on some televisions and mobile devices. It also commonly leaves the event available as a replay, although the availability and presentation can change.
3. Free streaming-news channels
These are useful backups, but a 24-hour news channel is not a guarantee that it will carry the entire speech without interruption. It may show a preview, cut in briefly, switch to analysis or provide a replay.

| Service | Cost and access | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| ABC News Live | ABC describes it as a free 24/7 streaming news channel available through its website, apps, YouTube and supported connected-TV platforms. | Confirm that the specific Trump address is listed, rather than assuming the channel will carry it. |
| CBS News 24/7 | Free through CBSNews.com, mobile apps and many supported connected devices. | Check whether the feed will carry the full speech or only coverage and analysis. |
| PBS and local PBS livestreams | The PBS app supports live streaming from participating local stations. | Local station programming and carriage of a particular presidential address vary by market. |
| NBC News NOW | Free streaming news service when NBC confirms coverage. | Do not list it as a guaranteed option until NBC announces that the particular event will be carried. |
| Local station websites and apps | Some local broadcast stations provide free live video. | Availability, regional rights and whether the station interrupts regular programming vary. |
Will ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox or CNN broadcast the speech?
That cannot be answered accurately until each network announces its plans for the specific event. A presidential address may be available online even when one or more networks do not show the full speech on their main broadcast channels.
The July 16, 2026 Trump address illustrated the distinction. ABC, NBC and CNN did not all carry the full speech on their primary linear channels, while streaming availability differed. ABC made coverage available through ABC News Live and ABC News Radio, and NBC planned coverage on NBC News NOW. The Axios account of the network plans documents why broadcast and streaming schedules must be checked separately.
For a future event, use wording such as: “Network plans can change close to airtime. For the most reliable access, use the official White House stream or a confirmed free streaming-news feed.” Avoid claiming that “all major networks” will air an address unless that has been confirmed individually.
What time will it start?
No start time has been announced for a Trump national address on August 10, 2026. Once the White House confirms one, use the event’s stated time and recalculate the local conversions for that date. Daylight-saving rules differ between winter and summer, so an old time-zone table should not be reused automatically.
For reference, two recent addresses used a 9 p.m. Eastern start but had different conversions:
| Event | Eastern | Central | Mountain | Pacific | Alaska | Hawaii |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| December 17, 2025 | 9 p.m. ET | 8 p.m. CT | 7 p.m. MT | 6 p.m. PT | 5 p.m. | 4 p.m. |
| July 16, 2026 | 9 p.m. EDT | 8 p.m. CDT | 7 p.m. MDT | 6 p.m. PDT | 5 p.m. | 3 p.m. |
The December 2025 speech was reported as beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern from the White House Diplomatic Reception Room. The December 2025 viewing guide provides the time-zone conversions above. The July 2026 address also began at 9 p.m. Eastern, as reported by Deseret News.

Start times are often approximate in practical terms. Open the stream five to 10 minutes early for a preshow, live updates or a delayed start. Do not promise a speech’s duration unless the White House confirms it. A December 2025 DVIDS listing, for example, reserved a 30-minute window, but a broadcast window does not prove that the speech itself will last exactly 30 minutes.
What might Trump discuss?
Until the White House publishes an agenda, the subject of a future address should be described cautiously. Use “the White House says,” “according to reporting” or “Trump is expected to discuss,” rather than presenting predictions as confirmed content.
For the December 17, 2025 year-end address, reporting anticipated a discussion of Trump’s first-year record and 2026 priorities. The White House later described the address as focusing on accomplishments, inflation, border security and a military payment. The official recap is available at the White House website.
Coverage before the July 16, 2026 address anticipated discussion of election security and foreign interference. Those topics required careful attribution, particularly where the administration made allegations. In its live fact-check coverage, CBS News noted that access to voter-registration data does not by itself show that voting systems or election outcomes were changed.

If the official stream is not working
- No video: Refresh the page once, then open the direct event page on the official White House YouTube channel instead of relying on an embedded player.
- Audio but no picture: Pause and resume the player, check the device volume and try another browser or the confirmed network backup.
- Old footage or the wrong event: Check the displayed date and title. A page labeled “Live” may be carrying a different event, a replay or a placeholder.
- A pay-TV login appears: Leave that page and return to the White House stream, official White House YouTube channel or a free streaming-news service. Do not mistake a subscription prompt for the only way to watch.
- The event has not started on time: Check the White House live page and a major news live blog before concluding that the event was canceled or postponed.
- The feed cuts to analysis: Switch to the official White House source if you want the speech itself without network commentary.
Use only official or established sources. Be wary of unofficial social-media streams that ask for cryptocurrency, browser extensions, suspicious downloads or unnecessary personal information. A commercial streaming service may also offer a free trial, but that is not the same as a free public stream: it may require payment details and automatically convert to a paid subscription if it is not canceled.
Captions, audio and accessibility
Check the individual event page for closed captions, a live transcript, Spanish-language coverage, American Sign Language interpretation and audio-only options. These features can differ between the White House player, YouTube and network feeds. Do not assume that a future event will include ASL interpretation or a professionally prepared transcript unless the provider confirms it.

Captions may lag or fail temporarily. If accessibility features are important, keep a second official or established news feed available. For audio-only listening, check network radio coverage or the broadcaster’s mobile app after the event plan is announced.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where to watch the replay and find a transcript
After the address ends, use the White House video library first. Replays are identified by date and title, which helps distinguish the speech from other presidential remarks. The official White House YouTube channel is another likely replay destination.
A transcript may appear later than the video. Look for a transcript on the White House website or consult a reputable archival source such as the University of Virginia’s Miller Center transcript of the December 17, 2025 address. A major news organization’s fact-checked recap can help separate what Trump said from independently verified information.
Recent addresses that are now archival
Two events may appear in search results for this topic, but neither is a live event on August 10, 2026:
- December 17, 2025: Trump delivered a year-end address at 9 p.m. Eastern from the White House Diplomatic Reception Room. The White House published an official gallery and next-day recap with a replay link. See the White House gallery and official release.
- July 16, 2026: Trump delivered a 9 p.m. Eastern address from the White House, focused largely on election security. Its official replay is available on the White House video site.
For viewers outside the United States
This guide is primarily for viewers in the United States. White House video may be accessible abroad, but network streams can impose regional, platform or rights restrictions. Do not assume that a free stream, local station feed or caption option is available worldwide without checking the provider’s current terms.

Can I watch a Trump address without cable?
Yes, when the event is streamed by the White House. Start with whitehouse.gov/live or the official White House YouTube channel. ABC News Live and CBS News 24/7 may also provide free coverage when they confirm carriage of the specific event.
Is the White House livestream free?
The official White House livestream and official White House YouTube channel are the preferred no-cost options when an address is available there. They do not require a cable subscription. Platform requirements can change, so check the event page for the current access and caption options.
Will ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CNN carry the full address?
Not necessarily. Network plans are event-specific, and a network may stream an address without airing the full speech on its primary broadcast channel. Check each network’s announcement close to airtime rather than assuming that all major networks will carry it.
Are live-TV free trials really free?
They may provide temporary access, but they commonly require payment details and can convert to a paid subscription after the trial. A free trial is not the same as a no-cost public stream. Use the official White House feed first and read the current cancellation terms before starting any trial.

Look in the White House video library and on the official White House YouTube channel. A transcript may later be published by the White House or archived by a reputable source such as the Miller Center.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: There is no officially confirmed Trump national address with a published start time for Monday, August 10, 2026. Do not sign up for a paid streaming trial based on an old “tonight” article. If the White House announces an address, begin at whitehouse.gov/live, use the official White House YouTube channel as the first backup and verify network plans for that specific date.
