Smile 2 is streaming in the United States on Paramount+. It is included with both the Essential and Premium plans, which currently start at $8.99 and $13.99 per month, respectively. A digital rental can cost less for a single viewing, with U.S. listings showing prices from about $3.99.
Availability and prices checked August 10, 2026. Streaming catalogs, promotional offers, taxes, and digital-store prices can change, and the options below apply specifically to the U.S.
If you missed the theatrical release or want to see what happens after the first Smile, the simplest legal option is the official Smile 2 listing on Paramount+. The film is included with a paid Paramount+ subscription; it is not free to watch without an account or a paid service.
If you only plan to watch the movie once, check digital storefronts before subscribing. A rental observed at approximately $3.99 is cheaper than one month of Paramount+ Essential. If you already subscribe to Paramount+, Walmart+, or an eligible live-TV package, however, watching through that existing benefit may be the better value.

The important distinction is between subscription streaming, paid channel access, and renting or buying the movie. Aggregators may group all of these under the word streaming, but they do not cost the same or provide the same access.

| Option | Access type | Current U.S. status | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paramount+ Essential | Direct subscription | Available | Included with the $8.99-per-month ad-supported plan, before tax. |
| Paramount+ Premium | Direct subscription | Available | Included with the $13.99-per-month plan. You do not need Premium solely to watch this movie. |
| Paramount+ through Amazon or Roku | Add-on channel | Listed by current U.S. availability aggregators | This is a separate Paramount+ channel subscription billed through Amazon or Roku, not automatically included with a regular Prime or Roku account. |
| Prime Video | Mixed | Listed | A Prime Video result can lead to a rental, purchase, or paid channel. The current title page shows separate rent-and-buy options, so Prime membership alone should not be assumed to include the film. |
| MGM+ Amazon Channel | Add-on channel | Listed | Requires an MGM+ subscription through Amazon if that is the offer shown in your account. |
| fuboTV, Philo, or YouTube TV | Live-TV subscription | Listed | Requires an eligible plan. These are generally poor choices if you are subscribing only for one movie. |
| Apple TV Store, Fandango At Home, Google Play/YouTube Movies | Digital rent or purchase | Available or listed | These are transactional storefronts, not access through Apple TV+ or a standard YouTube subscription. Fandango At Home is the service formerly known as Vudu. |
| 4K UHD, SteelBook, Blu-ray, or DVD | Physical purchase | Available | Physical editions were released January 21, 2025. They require a compatible player but do not depend on a streaming catalog. |
For the broadest current offer inventory, consult the U.S. JustWatch listing, then open the retailer or service you intend to use. The final offer button is more reliable than a generic provider logo: look for Included with subscription, Rent, Buy, or Subscribe to channel.
Paramount+ plans and the cheapest legitimate option
Paramount’s current U.S. plan information lists the following prices:
| Plan | Monthly price | Annual price | Relevant features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | $8.99 | $89.99 | Ad-supported on-demand viewing; does not include the local live CBS station. |
| Premium | $13.99 | $139.99 | Ad-free on-demand viewing, SHOWTIME, downloads, and selected 4K/HDR/Dolby Vision content. |
These are the currently listed U.S. prices for new subscriptions and may not match a grandfathered account, an app-store subscription, a promotion, or a third-party bundle. Taxes may apply. Paramount also notes that plans can include trailers or sponsorship material, so ad-free on-demand viewing does not necessarily mean that every piece of promotional material disappears. See Paramount’s plan and pricing information for the current terms.
Choose based on how you will watch
- Watching once: A $3.99 rental is currently the lowest observed one-time option, if that price remains available at the storefront and resolution you choose. It is usually cheaper than starting a monthly subscription.
- Watching several Paramount titles: Paramount+ Essential at $8.99 per month may offer better overall value, even though it costs more than one cheap rental.
- Already subscribed to Paramount+: Search within the Paramount+ app or website rather than paying again through Apple TV, Amazon, or another store.
- Already subscribed to Walmart+: Check your Walmart+ benefits. Eligible members can choose Paramount+ as an included streaming benefit, subject to current Walmart+ terms and availability. The benefit may be assigned to Peacock instead, and it should not be assumed to include Premium features.
- Planning repeat viewings: Compare a digital purchase with a physical 4K UHD or Blu-ray edition. Physical media has a higher upfront cost but avoids the possibility of the title leaving a streaming catalog.
- Considering a live-TV package: Use fuboTV, Philo, or YouTube TV only if you already want the broader service. Buying an entire live-TV subscription for one 127-minute movie is generally not economical.
Do not assume a free Paramount+ trial is available. Trial eligibility and promotional pricing change; only count on one if the current signup page visibly offers it to your account.
How much does it cost to rent or buy Smile 2?
Current U.S. listings checked August 10, 2026 show:
- Digital rental: from approximately $3.99 on some storefronts; other offers show about $5.99.
- Digital purchase: from approximately $14.99; some retailers show about $19.99.
The lowest price is not universal. Retailers can charge different amounts, and HD, SD, and 4K versions may be priced separately. A rental is time-limited, while a purchase is intended for repeat access through the retailer’s account and supported devices. Before paying, confirm the resolution, the retailer, and whether the button says Rent or Buy. The current U.S. JustWatch offers are a useful comparison point, but the checkout price at the selected storefront is the one that matters.

Is Smile 2 free on Paramount+?
No. Smile 2 is included in a paid Paramount+ plan, but it is not free viewing without a subscription. Paramount+ Essential is the cheapest direct plan currently listed at $8.99 per month, before tax.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →It can effectively cost nothing extra for someone who already pays for an eligible Walmart+ membership and activates the Paramount+ benefit. That does not make the movie free in the broader sense: Walmart+ is still a paid service, and benefit choices and eligibility can change. Review Walmart’s streaming-benefit rules before relying on it.
The current U.S. listings reviewed do not identify a free, no-subscription option. Avoid websites promising an unauthorized free full-movie stream or download; those pages can be misleading, unsafe, or illegal. Use Paramount+, a recognized rental or purchase store, an eligible paid bundle, or physical media.
Is it on Netflix, Hulu, or Tubi?
The U.S. availability listings reviewed for this update point to Paramount+, paid channel and live-TV options, and digital rental or purchase storefronts. They do not identify a free U.S. option, and they do not currently point U.S. viewers to Netflix, Hulu, or Tubi.
That is a territory-specific answer, not a worldwide one. Streaming rights differ by country. For example, Netflix’s official Namibia catalog lists Smile 2, which demonstrates why a Netflix result from another country cannot be used as proof of U.S. availability. Check the catalog for the country where you are watching.

- October 18, 2024: U.S. theatrical release.
- November 19, 2024: Premium video on demand, meaning digital rental and purchase availability.
- December 3, 2024: Paramount+ subscription-streaming debut.
- January 21, 2025: Physical release, including 4K UHD, SteelBook, Blu-ray, and DVD editions.
Some coverage from November 2024 described Prime Video as the only place to watch the movie on demand. That was accurate only as a time-specific PVOD report before the Paramount+ debut; it is not a current statement about subscription streaming. Similarly, calling the November 19 digital release simply streaming blurred the difference between renting or buying and watching a film included with a subscription.
What is Smile 2 about?
In the sequel, global pop star Skye Riley is preparing for a world tour when terrifying and inexplicable events begin disrupting her life. As pressure from fame, her past, and the supernatural threat intensifies, reality and nightmare become increasingly difficult to separate. This is a spoiler-free description; the film’s central mystery is more effective if its major turns remain undisclosed.
Smile 2 was written and directed by Parker Finn and stars:
- Naomi Scott
- Rosemarie DeWitt
- Kyle Gallner, returning as Joel from the first film
- Lukas Gage
- Miles Gutierrez-Riley
- Peter Jacobson
- Raúl Castillo
- Dylan Gelula
- Ray Nicholson
Paramount Pictures released the 2024 horror film. You can also watch the official Paramount Pictures trailer if you want a preview, although horror trailers may reveal more than some viewers prefer.
Rating, runtime, and content warnings
- U.S. rating: R.
- Runtime: 2 hours, 7 minutes, or 127 minutes, according to the consumer-facing Paramount+ and Apple TV listings.
- Content warnings: Strong bloody violence, grisly images, language throughout, and drug use.
One Paramount Global Content entry lists the runtime as 120 minutes, likely reflecting rounded or alternate metadata. The 127-minute figure is the more specific runtime shown on the Paramount+ consumer listing and Apple TV.
Do you need to watch the first Smile?
No, but it is recommended. Smile 2 follows a new central character, Skye Riley, so it can be understood as its own story. Watching the 2022 original first will give you more context for the supernatural mythology and make Kyle Gallner’s return as Joel more meaningful.
Rank #4
- 4K streaming made simple:With America’s number 1 TV streaming platform,* exploring popular apps—plus tons of free movies, shows, and live TV—is as easy as it is fun. *Based on hours streamed—Hypothesis Group
- 4K picture quality: With Roku Streaming Stick Plus, watch your favorites with brilliant 4K picture and vivid HDR color.
- Compact without compromises: Our sleek design won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
Starting with Smile 2 will not make the plot impossible to follow, but the sequel assumes that viewers are at least familiar with the premise of the first film. Watch the original first if you want the cleanest progression and do not want its major revelations summarized for you.
Is Smile 2 worth watching?
It is a strong match for viewers who want bloody supernatural horror, elaborate hallucination sequences, jump scares, and a story about the pressure of pop stardom. The sequel is more maximalist in its scale and visual set pieces, and its deliberately unstable reality is central to the experience.
It may be a poor fit if you dislike graphic imagery, disturbing violence, jump scares, long horror movies, or stories that leave you questioning which events are real. Calling it an unhinged sequel is editorial shorthand rather than an objective measurement, but it accurately signals the film’s heightened, surreal approach.
At the time of this check, the Apple TV listing displayed an 86% Tomatometer score; scores and review counts can change, so treat that figure as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent verdict. The more useful question is whether the film’s graphic, reality-blurring style suits your taste.
Common viewing mistakes to avoid
- Assuming Prime means included: A Prime Video page can represent a title included with Prime, a Paramount+ or MGM+ add-on, a rental, a purchase, or an ad-supported catalog offer. Check the exact price and button on the Prime Video title page.
- Confusing a channel with direct Paramount+: If you subscribe through Amazon, Roku, Apple TV, or another platform, you may need to watch in that platform’s app. Billing, cancellation, downloads, simultaneous streams, and 4K access can differ from a subscription purchased directly from Paramount+.
- Paying for Premium unnecessarily: Both current Paramount+ plans include Smile 2. Premium is worthwhile for its other features, not because the movie is locked to that tier.
- Trusting an old article: The film’s platform changed after its PVOD launch. Always check the date of a streaming guide and verify the current provider page.
- Ignoring country and resolution: A title available on Netflix elsewhere may not be available on U.S. Netflix, and a $3.99 HD rental may not be the same offer as a $5.99 4K rental.

Is Smile 2 included with Amazon Prime?
Do not assume that it is. Prime Video may show a rental or purchase, or an add-on channel such as Paramount+ or MGM+. Check whether the page says Included, Rent, Buy, or Subscribe to channel before paying.
Can I rent Smile 2 instead of subscribing?
Yes. Current U.S. listings show digital rentals from approximately $3.99, although some storefronts or resolutions may cost about $5.99. Prices can change, so confirm the final checkout price.
Is Smile 2 on Netflix, Hulu, or Tubi?
The U.S. listings reviewed for this update do not identify Netflix, Hulu, or Tubi as current options. Availability varies by country, and Netflix lists the film in at least some non-U.S. markets.

No. The sequel has a new lead character and can be followed on its own. Watching the 2022 original first is recommended because it establishes the mythology and makes Kyle Gallner’s returning role more significant.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: In the U.S., the easiest subscription option is Paramount+, with Smile 2 included in the $8.99-per-month Essential plan and the $13.99 Premium plan. For one viewing, check for the currently observed $3.99 digital rental first. Existing Walmart+ or live-TV subscribers should check their benefits before paying, while collectors can choose the 4K UHD, SteelBook, Blu-ray, or DVD release. Prices and availability are current as of August 10, 2026 and may change.
