The Sniper films are easiest to follow in release order. The series begins with Thomas Beckett, a veteran Marine sniper played by Tom Berenger, then shifts its focus to his son Brandon Beckett, played by Chad Michael Collins. Later entries expand the story with returning characters including Richard Miller, Agent Zero, and Lady Death.
There are currently 12 films. Although only the second and third movies use numbered titles, the later films continue the same broad storyline through subtitles rather than names such as Sniper 4 or Sniper 5.

1. Sniper (1993)
The original film introduces Thomas Beckett, a Marine sniper operating in Central America. He is paired with Richard Miller, a younger and less experienced spotter played by Billy Zane. Their contrasting approaches to military operations establish the tone and character dynamic that the franchise revisits in different forms.

2. Sniper 2 (2002)
Thomas Beckett returns for a Balkan mission. This time, his partner is B.J. Cole, a death-row inmate brought into the operation. The sequel keeps Beckett as the lead while placing him in a very different partnership from the one in the first film.
3. Sniper 3 (2004)
Beckett is sent to Vietnam to eliminate Paul Finnegan, a former friend who is believed to have become a threat to the United States. The mission gives the third film a more personal conflict while completing the initial Thomas Beckett run before the series changes focus.
4. Sniper: Reloaded (2011)
Reloaded introduces Brandon Beckett, Thomas’s son, as the franchise’s new central figure. Richard Miller returns, linking Brandon’s story to the earlier films. Brandon must track a mysterious sniper, while the film establishes the father-and-son legacy that drives much of the next phase.
5. Sniper: Legacy (2014)
Brandon investigates what appears to be the killing of his father. The apparent death brings the two generations of Beckett’s story together and develops Brandon’s role beyond simply being Thomas’s son. It is an important transition point before the series settles into its later ensemble format.

6. Sniper: Ghost Shooter (2016)
Brandon and Richard Miller are assigned to protect a gas pipeline. Their operation is complicated by an enemy sniper who seems able to identify American shooters with unusual precision. This entry continues Brandon and Miller’s partnership while expanding the franchise’s focus from individual missions to larger security operations.
7. Sniper: Ultimate Kill (2017)
Brandon, Richard Miller, and Thomas Beckett join forces against a Colombian drug cartel. For viewers following the family storyline, this is one of the key reunion films: the original protagonist and the newer lead operate together rather than appearing in separate phases of the franchise.
8. Sniper: Assassin’s End (2020)
Brandon is accused of assassinating a foreign dignitary and becomes the target of several pursuing forces. Thomas joins him as they work to uncover what happened. The film therefore combines a framed-fugitive thriller with another father-and-son mission.

9. Sniper: Rogue Mission (2022)
Brandon goes outside official channels after uncovering a corrupt federal agent’s connection to a human-trafficking operation. Agent Zero and Lady Death also return, signaling the franchise’s move toward a recurring team of operatives rather than a single sniper working alone.

10. Sniper: G.R.I.T. – Global Response & Intelligence Team (2023)
Brandon works with the newly formed G.R.I.T. team in Malta. The mission is to rescue Lady Death and stop an international terrorist cult. The full title is often shortened to Sniper: G.R.I.T., but it is the tenth film in the series.
11. Sniper: The Last Stand (2025)
Brandon and Agent Zero lead an elite unit in Costa Verde against an arms dealer and his militia. This is the eleventh release, following the 2023 G.R.I.T. story; it is not an alternate title for that film.
12. Sniper: No Nation (2026)
The latest entry follows Brandon after G.R.I.T. is disavowed and labeled a terrorist organization. He reunites with Thomas Beckett and Agent Zero for a rescue mission in Costa Verde. Sony’s current listing identifies the film as available on DVD and digital, although exact options can vary by country.

Not one that is useful for a first viewing. The films’ broad chronology already tracks their release sequence: Thomas leads the first three stories, Brandon takes over in Reloaded, and the subsequent films continue Brandon’s missions while bringing back older characters.

The series is not structured like a tightly serialized television drama. Some installments function as self-contained military action stories, and supporting characters may receive more attention in one film than another. Even so, watching in release order gives the clearest introduction to the characters and preserves the intended reveals.
What changed after the original trilogy?
- The lead changed. Thomas Beckett anchors the 1993–2004 run, while Brandon becomes the main protagonist from Sniper: Reloaded onward.
- The titles changed. The series stopped using consecutive numbers after Sniper 3 and adopted subtitles.
- The cast of recurring characters grew. Richard Miller links the original and later eras, while Agent Zero, Lady Death, and G.R.I.T. become important in the newer films.
- The release model changed. Most of the later entries were made for home entertainment rather than receiving the kind of theatrical release associated with the first film.
Where can you watch the films?
Availability depends on your country and can change between streaming services, digital stores, and physical retailers. Sony’s individual movie pages list the currently available purchase and home-video options for the titles, including the original Sniper and the later films. Check the listing for your region before starting a marathon; a title available digitally in one country may only be offered on DVD or Blu-ray elsewhere.

- Stopping at 10 films: that count predates Sniper: The Last Stand and Sniper: No Nation.
- Calling G.R.I.T. the newest movie: it was released in 2023 and was followed by two more entries.
- Searching for “Sniper 4”: the fourth movie is officially titled Sniper: Reloaded.
- Starting with Brandon’s films: you can do so, but the first three movies provide Thomas Beckett’s background and make the later family connections more meaningful.
