The Paris 2024 Olympic Closing Ceremony took place on Sunday, August 11, 2024. In the United States, NBC’s live presentation began at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT, with coverage also available through Peacock and authenticated NBC platforms.
Because the event is now historical, start with the official Olympics video archive and the NBC Olympics ceremony replay hub. If the complete broadcast is no longer available in your country, official clips should still help you find the Tom Cruise, LA28, Snoop Dogg and Billie Eilish segments.
When was the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony?
The ceremony was held at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis on Sunday, August 11, 2024. It began at approximately 9 p.m. in Paris, which corresponded to 3 p.m. Eastern Time and noon Pacific Time in the United States.
The Paris Games ran from July 26 through August 11, 2024. The closing event combined the formal end of the Games, the parade of athletes and the handover to Los Angeles, host of the 2028 Olympics.

This is therefore a replay guide rather than a live-viewing schedule. Archive availability can change because of territory, account requirements and music-licensing restrictions.
Where to watch the full replay now
- Olympics.com archive: Check this first for Olympic-produced video. Depending on your location, the page may offer the complete ceremony, a shorter package or an unavailable placeholder.
- NBC Olympics replay hub: This is the most relevant archive for the U.S. NBC presentation. It may contain American commentary, commercial breaks or edited television elements rather than an uninterrupted international feed.
- Peacock: Peacock was NBCUniversal’s principal U.S. streaming destination for the 2024 Olympics and carried full-event replays during the Games. Do not assume the Paris 2024 ceremony remains in the catalog; search the service before subscribing.
- Official Olympics YouTube channel: Use this for individual highlights when a full replay is missing. An official clip is not the same thing as a complete ceremony recording.
The Olympics archive may be preferable if you want the ceremony itself with fewer U.S.-specific interruptions. NBC’s version may be preferable if you want the familiar U.S. commentary and Team USA framing. Neither archive is guaranteed to be available in every territory.
How to watch without paying for a streaming subscription
“Free stream” can mean several different things. The legitimate options were not identical:
- Free over-the-air NBC: U.S. viewers with a compatible antenna and a receivable local NBC affiliate could watch the broadcast without a streaming subscription.
- Free with an existing TV subscription: NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and NBC apps generally allowed authenticated viewers to stream through a participating cable, satellite or live-TV provider.
- Free international broadcaster: Some public broadcasters may offer online Olympic coverage to residents of their licensed territory. Access is governed by local rights and may be geo-restricted.
- Free official clips: Short videos from Olympics, NBC or other authorized accounts may remain available even when a full ceremony is not.
There is no reliable basis for promising a universally free internet stream. Avoid pirate streams, mirror sites and suspicious players claiming to offer “free Olympics” coverage. They may be incomplete, unlawful, unsafe or quickly removed.

A VPN should not be treated as a guaranteed solution. Platforms can restrict access by territory, and using one may conflict with a service’s terms or local licensing rules.
How U.S. viewers watched the ceremony live
NBC’s U.S. presentation began at 3 p.m. ET. The main routes were:
| Option | What it required | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Local NBC broadcast | Antenna reception and a local NBC affiliate | Watching without a streaming subscription |
| Peacock | A Peacock account and the applicable plan | Streaming NBCUniversal Olympic coverage |
| NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and NBC apps | Usually a qualifying pay-TV login | Viewers already subscribed to cable, satellite or live TV |
| Live-TV bundles | A provider carrying the local NBC station | People wanting broader live television |
Local-channel availability varies by market. A live-TV subscription can provide NBC, but it is usually excessive if the only goal is watching an old ceremony. Check the official replay pages before paying for a new service.
Where are the Tom Cruise, Snoop Dogg and Billie Eilish moments?
The celebrities appeared as part of the LA28 Handover Celebration, not in a separate ceremony titled the “Tom Cruise event.” The segment came toward the latter part of the closing program, although its precise position can vary between the international feed, NBC’s presentation and edited clips.

- Tom Cruise: He appeared in the filmed and live-action handover sequence, including the widely discussed stadium stunt and the transition toward Los Angeles.
- Billie Eilish: She performed as part of the Los Angeles presentation.
- Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre: They performed together during the LA28 segment.
- Red Hot Chili Peppers and H.E.R.: They were also associated with the Los Angeles handover celebration.
For a focused viewing shortcut, look for official Olympics or broadcaster clips covering the LA28 handover performance. A highlight video will usually omit surrounding speeches, athlete segments and parts of the ceremony.
For the complete sequence, use the full replay links first. Searching for a celebrity name inside the official Olympics YouTube channel can be more dependable than relying on an unofficial long upload.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why different replays may not look identical
There were several legitimate versions of the event:
- International Olympic broadcast: The world feed generally focused on the ceremony and was distributed to rights-holding broadcasters.
- NBC U.S. presentation: This could include host commentary, studio inserts, commercial breaks and additional Team USA context.
- BBC coverage: The British broadcast had its own commentary and editorial treatment.
- Official short clips: These isolate popular moments and are not substitutes for the complete event.
Consequently, a viewer looking for the “full replay” should decide whether that means the complete ceremony with minimal interruptions or the complete NBC television presentation. Both can be legitimate but may differ in duration, commentary and editing.

What to do if a replay link does not work
Replay troubleshooting checklist
- Confirm that the page is for Paris 2024, not Milan-Cortina 2026 or Los Angeles 2028.
- Try the Olympics archive and NBC replay hub separately; one may work when the other is unavailable.
- Sign in if the platform requests a streaming-service or TV-provider account.
- Disable ad-blocking or content-blocking extensions temporarily if the player will not load.
- Check whether the video is blocked in your country or has been edited because of music rights.
- Try the official Olympics YouTube channel for individual performances or the LA28 handover.
- Do not rely on unofficial uploads labeled “full ceremony.” They may be incomplete, mislabeled, copied from another broadcast or removed for copyright reasons.
Should you buy a streaming service for this replay?
Usually, no. If you only want the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony, check the official Olympics and NBC archive pages before buying anything. A subscription makes more sense if you also want ongoing NBC sports, live television or Peacock programming.
Peacock’s official plans page is the appropriate place to check current U.S. pricing and whether the ceremony is still listed. Plan names, prices and catalog availability can change.
Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV and Sling can be useful for broader live-TV needs, but local NBC availability depends on the viewer’s market and package. Verify the channel lineup by ZIP code before subscribing. An antenna remains the least expensive long-term way to receive future local NBC broadcasts, although reception depends on the transmitter distance, terrain, building materials and antenna placement; it does not provide an on-demand replay unless paired with recording equipment.
International viewers
U.S. NBC links may be unavailable outside the United States. Viewers elsewhere should first check their local Olympic rights-holder, then the Olympics.com archive. Eligibility can depend on residence, language, territory and the broadcaster’s current archive policy.
Recommended Free Tools
Do not assume that a video available in the United States will play internationally, or that an international broadcaster’s stream is available to U.S. viewers. Official highlight clips are often the most portable fallback, but they may not include the complete ceremony.
