How to Watch the Final 2026 Winter Olympics Events: Peacock, NBC, Free Antenna Options and Replays

The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics have ended, but this archival guide explains how the final weekend originally aired in the U.S.—including Peacock, free local NBC antenna coverage, trials, and replays.

Important update: the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics ended on February 22, 2026, so the final weekend is no longer live. This is an archival U.S. viewing guide to the competition held on Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, including where the major events originally aired and how viewers could watch without cable.

For the original weekend, Peacock Premium was the most complete cable-free option: it carried every sport, every event, all 116 medal events, NBC coverage, and full-event replays. The best genuinely free option was a TV antenna receiving a local NBC affiliate, but that covered only selected NBC programming—not every Olympic event. Viewers looking now should check the official NBC and Peacock pages linked below for any remaining replays or highlights.

The short answer for the February 21–22 Olympic weekend

What you wanted to watch Best option Cost status What it did not include
Every event live and on demand Peacock Premium $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year, according to NBC’s Olympics FAQ It was paid access; do not assume a standard direct free trial
Major NBC events and the closing ceremony Local NBC station through an antenna Free after buying or already owning the antenna No USA Network, CNBC, or Peacock-only feeds
NBC, USA Network, and CNBC online Hulu + Live TV or another qualifying live-TV service Paid, with promotional trials sometimes available Local-channel availability and trial eligibility varied
NBC digital coverage with an existing pay-TV subscription NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, or an NBC app Included with an eligible cable, satellite, or telecommunications TV login It was not universally free streaming
Peacock included with a membership you already had Walmart+ or eligible Instacart+ benefit Included only after activation and subject to membership terms Joining the membership solely for Peacock was not necessarily free

The official NBC listing used Eastern Time and warned that schedules were subject to change. The complete archived schedule is available in NBC Sports’ final-weekend listings.

Which Olympics and which weekend?

This guide covers the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, held in Italy from February 6 through February 22, 2026. Some competitions began before the opening ceremony. The final competition weekend was Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22. The closing ceremony took place Sunday at the Verona Olympic Arena.

Actual Reception depends on location, terrain, and weather, always re-scan for channels after moving the antenna. If you have any issues, please contact us. We will provide professional service and a satisfactory solution for you.

Those dates matter because a page promising to watch the Olympics live this weekend becomes inaccurate immediately after February 22. The event-by-event details below preserve the original schedule for reference; current viewers should look for official replays and highlights rather than expect live coverage.

Saturday, February 21: final-weekend schedule

The following times are Eastern Time. A slash between networks means the event was listed on those outlets; Peacock was the broadest destination and was not limited to the selected broadcast windows.

Time Event or coverage Where it aired
4:00–7:00 a.m. Four-man bobsled, first and second runs Peacock and USA Network
4:45–6:10 a.m. Freestyle skiing, mixed-team aerials final Peacock and USA Network
6:10–7:05 a.m. Men’s 50-kilometer cross-country skiing Peacock and USA Network
7:05–7:20 a.m. Men’s ski cross final Peacock and USA Network
7:30–8:15 a.m. Ski mountaineering mixed-team relay final Peacock and USA Network
8:15–8:55 a.m. Women’s biathlon 12.5-kilometer mass start Peacock and USA Network
9:00–9:30 a.m. Men’s and women’s speed-skating mass-start finals Peacock and USA Network
9:30–10:45 a.m. Women’s curling bronze-medal game: United States vs. Canada Peacock and USA Network
10:00–11:30 a.m. NBC daytime coverage, including speed-skating mass-start finals NBC and Peacock
1:00–1:30 p.m. Women’s two-woman bobsled, third run NBC and Peacock
3:15–3:50 p.m. Women’s two-woman bobsled, final run NBC and Peacock
3:50–5:00 p.m. Figure-skating gala NBC and Peacock
8:00–11:00 p.m. Primetime in Milan NBC
11:30 p.m.–1:00 a.m. Olympic Late Night, including the men’s ski-cross final and women’s biathlon mass start NBC

Several Saturday events overlapped. That is one reason Peacock was more useful than trying to follow the NBC broadcast schedule: the service’s Olympic hub organized simultaneous competitions by sport and event rather than forcing viewers to wait for a packaged television segment.

Sunday, February 22: hockey final and closing ceremony

Sunday contained the most recognizable final-day broadcasts. The two events most likely to matter to a casual viewer were the United States–Canada men’s hockey gold-medal game at 8:10 a.m. ET and the live closing ceremony from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. ET.

Time Event Where it aired
4:00–6:35 a.m. Women’s 50-kilometer cross-country skiing Peacock and USA Network
6:35–7:00 a.m. Four-man bobsled, final run Peacock and USA Network
7:00–7:15 a.m. Women’s curling gold-medal game: Sweden vs. Switzerland NBC, USA Network, and Peacock
8:10–11:00 a.m. Men’s ice-hockey gold-medal game: United States vs. Canada NBC and Peacock
11:00–11:45 a.m. Four-man bobsled, third and final runs NBC and Peacock
11:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Women’s freeski halfpipe final NBC and Peacock
12:30–2:20 p.m. Women’s 50-kilometer cross-country skiing NBC and Peacock
2:30–5:00 p.m. Closing ceremony NBC and Peacock
9:00–11:00 p.m. Closing-ceremony primetime presentation NBC

In the original schedule, an antenna could have delivered the NBC portions—including the hockey final, NBC’s daytime events, and the live closing ceremony—if the viewer’s local NBC affiliate carried the listed programming. It could not have delivered the early USA Network blocks or every separate Olympic feed.

Peacock was the complete cable-free option

NBCUniversal described Peacock as the U.S. streaming home for every sport, every event, all 116 medal events, full-event replays, and NBC’s linear coverage. Its Olympic presentation also included a sport-by-sport hub, an interactive schedule, Discovery Multiview for watching multiple events on one screen, Rinkside Live for select hockey and figure-skating coverage, and Gold Zone whip-around coverage. See the NBCUniversal overview of its Milano Cortina coverage.

NBC’s Olympics FAQ listed Peacock Premium at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year. Peacock Premium Plus was listed at $16.99 per month or $169.99 per year. These are the prices documented for the 2026 Games, after Peacock’s price change that took effect for new subscribers on July 23, 2025; check Peacock’s current pricing before subscribing.

Premium was an ad-supported plan. Premium Plus did not necessarily remove advertisements from live sports. Also, having Peacock did not mean every event used exactly the same commentary or camera feed as the NBC television broadcast.

How the Peacock setup worked

  1. Create or sign in to a Peacock account.
  2. Choose Peacock Premium, rather than assuming an unsupported free account would unlock live Olympic events.
  3. Open the Olympics hub.
  4. Use Browse by Sport or the Interactive Schedule to locate an event.
  5. Select the event marked live, or add a future event to My Stuff when that option is available.
  6. Choose Multiview for simultaneous events where the device and stream supported it.

Peacock supported web browsers, mobile devices, smart TVs, streaming sticks, game consoles, and major connected-TV platforms, although device support and app labels can change. If a missed event was available, search for the event-specific replay inside the Olympics hub. NBC’s FAQ indicated that full-event replays would appear soon after live coverage, but the Gold Zone program itself would not be available as a replay. Since the Games are now over, replay availability is no longer guaranteed.

The genuinely free option: an antenna and local NBC

An antenna is free broadcast television, not free streaming. The hardware may cost money, but there is no monthly television subscription after installation. It was the best option for viewers who wanted the biggest NBC-scheduled events—especially the men’s hockey final and closing ceremony—and did not need every Olympic competition.

Check reception before buying or installing

  1. Enter your address in the FCC’s DTV reception map to check the likely local-station signals.
  2. Connect an indoor, attic, or outdoor antenna to the television’s antenna or RF input.
  3. Run the TV’s channel scan.
  4. Confirm that the local NBC affiliate appears and that the signal is stable.
  5. Check the affiliate’s local schedule before a major broadcast, because local programming and reception vary by market.

The FCC map is a useful starting point, not a guarantee. Buildings, hills, distance, antenna placement, and the direction of the broadcast tower can all affect reception. If NBC is missing, rescan after repositioning the antenna, move it higher or closer to a window, or consider an attic or outdoor model. NBC’s antenna troubleshooting guide and the FTC’s antenna guidance explain the limitations of over-the-air reception.

What the antenna did not provide: USA Network, CNBC, Peacock-only events, alternate live feeds, the complete Olympic schedule, or on-demand replays. A digital antenna does not magically turn every Olympic event into a local broadcast.

What NBC’s websites and apps required

NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, the NBC app, and the NBC Sports app were not universally free livestream services. NBC’s FAQ said that unlocked online live coverage generally required authentication with a participating cable, satellite, or telecommunications TV provider.

The access path was:

  1. Open NBCOlympics.com or an NBC app.
  2. Select the live event.
  3. Choose Sign in or Log in with TV provider.
  4. Find the provider in the list.
  5. Enter the provider’s username and password.

This was useful for someone who already paid for an eligible television service, but it should not be described as a free cord-cutting method. If the app asks for a provider login, that is expected. A viewer without an eligible login needed Peacock, an antenna for NBC broadcast coverage, or a qualifying live-TV streaming service.

Free trials: possible, but not the same as free Olympic coverage

Hulu + Live TV

Hulu’s official Live TV page listed NBC, USA Network, and CNBC in its channel lineup, subject to location, and listed a three-day trial for eligible new or returning subscribers. The documented price was $89.99 per month after the trial. See Hulu’s current plan page and its Olympics guide before relying on a promotion.

A three-day trial could have covered the final weekend if started at the right time, but eligibility was not universal. Local NBC availability depended on ZIP code. Anyone using the trial needed to record the exact billing date and cancel before the first paid renewal.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

DIRECTV streaming

DIRECTV advertised a five-day trial for eligible streaming-plan sign-ups. The promotion and qualifying plans can change, so viewers needed to confirm that their selected package carried the relevant NBC and USA Network feeds in their market before starting. The DIRECTV streaming page has the applicable offer and package details.

Neither trial should be treated as guaranteed. Previous use, location, payment history, plan selection, and promotional changes could make a viewer ineligible.

Peacock benefits through memberships you already have

Walmart+

Walmart+ offered members a choice between Peacock Premium and Paramount+ Essential as an included ad-supported streaming benefit. Activation was required, and the ability to switch benefits was governed by the membership rules. See the Walmart+ streaming-benefit page and Walmart’s terms.

This could make Peacock effectively no-cost at the time for someone who already had Walmart+ or was eligible for a Walmart+ trial. It was not absolutely free if the viewer joined Walmart+ solely to obtain Peacock.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Instacart+

Instacart’s terms said that eligible U.S. Instacart+ members could activate Peacock Premium at no additional charge. The benefit depended on active membership and eligibility, and it was limited to Peacock Premium. Check the Instacart+ Peacock benefit information and related membership terms before assuming it applies.

How to avoid missing a Peacock-only or USA Network event

  • Do not rely only on NBC’s primetime schedule. Many competitions appeared early in the morning on USA Network or as individual Peacock feeds.
  • Use Peacock’s sport filter and interactive schedule. The home page may emphasize featured programming rather than every simultaneous event.
  • Check the network label. If an event is listed for USA Network or Peacock and you only have an antenna, you will not have that feed.
  • Set reminders or use My Stuff. This is especially important for early-morning finals and overlapping runs.
  • Use a single event feed instead of Multiview if the stream struggles. Multiview is convenient but places greater demands on the connection and device.
  • Look for the event-specific replay after the competition. Gold Zone was a whip-around show, not a substitute archive for every event.

Troubleshooting guide

The local NBC station does not appear

Check the FCC map, rescan the television, reposition the antenna, and test it near a window or at a higher location. If the station remains unavailable, an indoor antenna may not be sufficient; an attic or outdoor antenna could perform better. Reception varies by address, so another viewer’s antenna result is not a guarantee.

The NBC app asks for a TV-provider login

NBC’s digital platforms required authentication for unlocked live coverage. Use a participating provider’s credentials if you already have them. Otherwise, switch to Peacock for streaming access or use an antenna for programming carried by the local NBC affiliate.

Peacock shows a different event than the one you expected

Open the Olympics hub and search by sport or use the interactive schedule. Olympic coverage had several simultaneous feeds, and the featured item on the Peacock home screen was not necessarily the event you wanted.

A free trial does not work

You may have used the service before, live outside the eligible area, selected a plan without the required local channel, or encountered a changed promotion. Check the provider’s eligibility screen before assuming the trial will cover the weekend.

The stream buffers

Close competing downloads, reduce video quality if the app allows it, use a wired Ethernet connection where practical, and switch from Multiview to one event feed. If only one service is failing, test another device or the browser version.

A replay cannot be found

Search inside the Olympics hub by sport and event rather than looking only under Gold Zone. NBC’s FAQ distinguished full-event replays from Gold Zone, and replay windows were not permanent. After the Games, some events may no longer be available.

What about watching from outside the United States?

This guide is for U.S. viewers. Olympic media rights differed by country. In Europe, public-service broadcasters received free-to-air coverage through the European Broadcasting Union framework; the EBU’s Milano Cortina overview provides the relevant context.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Streaming services were generally geographically restricted. A VPN was not a guaranteed workaround: it could violate a service’s terms, be blocked, and would not change the underlying territorial rights or guarantee the same commentary and event selection. Viewers abroad should use the official broadcaster for the country in which they are physically located. Avoid unauthorized streams promising free access to Peacock or every Olympic event.

Bottom line for the original weekend

If the priority was every final event live, Peacock Premium was the clear U.S. choice: one subscription covered the complete event slate, NBC simulcasts, and replays. If the goal was the biggest televised moments at no monthly cost, an antenna connected to a receivable local NBC affiliate could cover the U.S.–Canada hockey final and the live closing ceremony, along with other NBC programming. It could not replace Peacock.

Trials from Hulu + Live TV or DIRECTV could reduce the cost for an eligible viewer, while Walmart+ and Instacart+ could include Peacock for members who already qualified. None should be advertised as permanently free. Since February 22 has passed, the practical next step is to check the official NBC Olympics information and Peacock event guide for any remaining replays or highlights.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still watch the final Winter Olympics events live?

No. The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics ended on February 22, 2026. You may still find selected replays or highlights, but availability is not guaranteed and the original live broadcasts have ended.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Was Peacock free for the 2026 Winter Olympics?

No standard direct Peacock free trial should have been assumed. Peacock Premium was listed at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year for the Games. Some Walmart+ and eligible Instacart+ members could activate an included Peacock Premium benefit, subject to the applicable terms.

Could an antenna show every Olympic event?

No. An antenna could receive programming from a local NBC affiliate, including the men’s hockey final and closing ceremony in the listed schedule. It did not provide USA Network, CNBC, Peacock-only feeds, or the complete event and replay library.

Why did NBC ask me to sign in with a TV provider?

NBC’s websites and apps generally required authentication from a participating cable, satellite, or telecommunications TV provider for unlocked live coverage. That access was an included benefit of an existing pay-TV subscription, not a universally free stream.

The Bottom Line

For the original February 21–22, 2026 weekend: Peacock Premium was the most complete cable-free choice, while a local NBC affiliate received through an antenna was the genuinely free way to watch selected major broadcasts, including the U.S.–Canada hockey final and closing ceremony. The Games are now over, so use the official NBC and Peacock pages to check for remaining replays and highlights.
