The original U.S. rebroadcast is no longer airing tonight. The Milano Cortina 2026 Opening Ceremony took place on Friday, February 6, 2026. NBC carried the live event at 2 p.m. ET and its primetime encore at 8 p.m. local time. If you are watching later, check Peacock, the official NBC Olympics schedule, and the official Olympic YouTube replay rather than relying on an old “tonight” listing.
When did the Opening Ceremony air?
The ceremony was held on Friday, February 6, 2026. The original U.S. schedule was:
- Live coverage: 2 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC and Peacock.
- Primetime rebroadcast: 8 p.m. local broadcast time on NBC and Peacock.
The 8 p.m. presentation was a scheduled NBC primetime broadcast, not necessarily the same uninterrupted feed as the live event. Local listings are the best reference for Central and Mountain time zones and for any affiliate-specific changes. See NBC’s official ceremony schedule.
How to watch it on NBC
The primetime presentation was available through a viewer’s local NBC station. You could watch using:
#1 Best Overall
- An antenna receiving your local NBC affiliate;
- A cable or satellite package carrying NBC; or
- A live-TV streaming service that includes your local NBC station.
Local availability varies by ZIP code. Check your station’s current guide rather than assuming every live-TV package carries the same NBC affiliate.
How to stream the ceremony on Peacock
Peacock was the principal U.S. streaming service for the Olympics, including live coverage, ceremonies, and full-event replays. To look for the ceremony:
Rank #2
- Open Peacock in a browser or supported app on a smart TV, streaming device, phone, game console, or set-top box.
- Search for “Opening Ceremony,” “Milano Cortina 2026,” or “Winter Olympics.”
- Check the Olympics hub if general search does not show the title.
- Choose the full ceremony or the NBC primetime presentation, depending on which version is listed.
The retrieved NBC Olympics FAQ listed Peacock Premium at $10.99 per month or $109.99 per year; subscription pricing can change. Do not assume the ceremony remains in the catalog after the original replay window.
Peacock may also show a separate program called Opening Ceremony: Red Carpet. That is not the full ceremony.

NBC materials listed NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com, the NBC app, and the NBC Sports app among the Olympic streaming platforms. Specific replay access may require TV-provider authentication and can vary by platform, account, and date.
If Peacock no longer lists the event, try the full-length replay on the official Milano Cortina Olympic YouTube channel. Its availability, editing, captions, commentary, and regional access may differ from NBC’s presentation.
Which version should you choose?
| Version | Best for | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Live event feed | Viewers wanting the ceremony as it happened | Live coverage and fewer primetime packaging elements |
| NBC primetime replay | Viewers wanting the U.S. broadcast presentation | Hosts, commentary, features, and possible edits |
| Official Olympic replay | Viewers watching after the television window | Availability and presentation may differ from NBC’s version |
If you cannot find the replay
- Search Peacock using several titles, including “Opening Ceremony” and “Milano Cortina.”
- Open the Olympics hub instead of relying only on global search.
- Check the official NBC Olympics schedule and your local NBC listings.
- Confirm that you are signed into the correct Peacock account or TV provider.
- Try the official Olympic YouTube replay if Peacock’s listing has expired.
There is no basis for describing the full Peacock stream as free. An antenna may provide NBC without a recurring streaming subscription where a household receives a local NBC signal. Reception information is available through the FCC’s TV reception map.

NBC and Peacock instructions are U.S.-specific. International viewers should use their country’s official Olympic broadcaster or the official Olympics platform where rights permit. Peacock availability and Olympic rights do not automatically extend outside the United States.
