Where to watch the 2025 Wimbledon final
The original live viewing options depended on the country. There was no single free channel available worldwide, and the meaning of free varied: BBC iPlayer was licence-funded and UK-only, 9Now was free with advertising and an account in Australia, while viewers in the United States needed ESPN, ESPN+ or qualifying pay-TV access for the live match.

For the historical U.S. schedule, ESPN listed the Gentlemen’s Championship on ESPN and ESPN+, while ABC showed an afternoon encore rather than the live final.
The official full-match replay
The most useful option for someone searching after the event is Wimbledon’s official YouTube upload, That Stunning Final IN FULL. It was published by the verified Wimbledon channel on July 17, 2025.
The replay includes the result, so it is not suitable if you are trying to watch without spoilers. It may also be unavailable in some territories or removed after a rights change. If the direct link does not play, visit the official Wimbledon YouTube channel and search for the final rather than using an unverified mirror.
Broadcaster replays may also exist on ESPN, BBC or local rights-holder platforms, but those can require an active subscription, a TV-provider login or access within a limited catch-up period. Do not assume that a live stream’s availability continues indefinitely as an on-demand replay.

When did Sinner vs. Alcaraz start?
The men’s singles final was scheduled for 4:00 p.m. BST on Sunday, July 13, 2025, or 11:00 a.m. ET. The 2025 singles finals were scheduled two hours later than the older 2:00 p.m. BST convention, which made some general Wimbledon guides misleading. The BBC’s Wimbledon finals guide and ESPN’s schedule both listed the later start.

These were the match-start times, not necessarily the time at which each broadcaster began its Wimbledon studio coverage.
How U.K. viewers watched for free
BBC One
BBC One carried the final live in the United Kingdom. This was the simplest television option for viewers who already received BBC services.
BBC iPlayer
BBC iPlayer also carried the live BBC feed. The usual route was:
- Open BBC iPlayer in the U.K. or open the BBC iPlayer app.
- Sign in or create a BBC account if the service requests one.
- Open the live-TV section or search for Wimbledon.
- Select the BBC One Wimbledon feed when available.
BBC iPlayer is not a worldwide free stream. The UK TV Licence rules require a valid licence to watch live television or use BBC iPlayer. The BBC also says its television content is legally available only in the U.K.; its iPlayer help and support information explains the geographic restriction.
Because the match ended in July 2025, BBC iPlayer catch-up should not be promised as a current source. If the programme has left the BBC’s availability window, use the official Wimbledon replay instead.

How Australian viewers watched for free
9Now was the principal free streaming option reported for Australian viewers. 9Now is funded by advertising, so free does not mean commercial-free. It also requires a Nine account and a verified email address.
- Visit 9now.com.au or open the 9Now app.
- Create a Nine account or sign in.
- Verify the email address if prompted. 9Now explains the process in its account-verification guide.
- Open the live-TV or sports area.
- Select the Wimbledon feed if it is listed.
9Now’s free-use policy describes the service as free with an account and advertising. Its location guidance states that live and on-demand video is restricted to people in Australia.
If 9Now does not work
- It asks for an account: this is expected. A Nine profile is required; it is not evidence that a paid subscription is needed.
- The verification email has not arrived: check the spam or junk folder and confirm that the address was entered correctly.
- The service says the video is unavailable in your location: this is expected outside Australia. If you are physically in Australia, disable a VPN and check whether your network is being assigned an incorrect overseas IP address.
- The television app is unsupported: try 9Now in a browser, on a mobile device or on a supported streaming platform.

How U.S. viewers watched the live final
In the United States, the live final was listed for 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN+. ESPN Deportes carried Spanish-language coverage. ESPN’s official Wimbledon schedule and the ESPN press release provide the contemporaneous distribution details.
- ESPN: required access through a participating pay-TV or live-TV provider.
- ESPN+: was a paid streaming option.
- ABC: showed an encore presentation from 3:00–6:00 p.m. ET. It was a replay, not the live final.
There was no confirmed free, over-the-air U.S. broadcast of the live match. An antenna could help with the later ABC encore only, assuming the local ABC station carried it. A free trial from a live-TV provider could sometimes reduce the cost for an eligible new customer, but that was a conditional promotion—not a guaranteed free channel. Trial length, eligibility, billing date and cancellation rules varied by provider.

Other international viewing options
Wimbledon rights were negotiated country by country. The fact that a service was free in Britain or Australia did not give it worldwide rights.

Sky Sport carried the final in Italy. Contemporaneous Italian listings also reported TV8 as a free-to-air option for the final. That does not establish that TV8 carried every Wimbledon match or that the same arrangement remains in force. See the Sky Sport schedule information and the reported TV8 listing.
Spain
Movistar Plus+ announced complete Wimbledon coverage in Spain. This was a paid-provider arrangement, not a confirmed free-channel option.
Canada and other countries
This guide does not confirm a free Canadian live stream from a sufficiently clear primary-source Wimbledon-final schedule. Canadian and other international viewers should check the local rights holder for the relevant year. Do not infer Wimbledon rights from another Grand Slam, another tennis tournament or a previous season.

Why a VPN is not the same as a free, official stream
Some technology guides suggested using a VPN to reach BBC iPlayer or 9Now from another country. That advice should not be presented as an officially supported way to watch the match.

BBC iPlayer is intended for use in the U.K., and BBC guidance says its television content is not legally available outside the U.K. 9Now likewise restricts its video to Australia. A VPN subscription is not automatically free, and a provider’s money-back guarantee is not the same thing as a free service. More importantly, changing an apparent IP location does not change the broadcaster’s territorial rights or terms of use.
The rights-compliant approach is to use the broadcaster available in your actual location, or the official Wimbledon replay if it is available there. If a broadcaster blocks a VPN, disabling it may be the appropriate fix when you are already in the permitted country.
What happened in the final?
Spoilers: Sinner beat Alcaraz in four sets, 4–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4, on Centre Court at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The victory gave Sinner his first Wimbledon singles title and made him the first Italian men’s singles champion at Wimbledon, according to the BBC’s result report.
Alcaraz entered as the two-time defending champion and was attempting to win a third consecutive Wimbledon title. Sinner was playing his first Wimbledon final.
