You usually don’t need to transfer the videos. On your PC, sign in to YouTube with the Google Account that has the playlist, then open it from your You tab or library. A playlist saved to your library is available there for later access. YouTube explains how to save and manage playlists.
Open the playlist on your PC
- Open YouTube in a browser on the PC and sign in to the Google Account used for the playlist.
- Select You or your library, then choose the playlist. If you have its shared link, you can open that instead, provided you have permission to view it.
- Press play. The PC streams the videos from YouTube, so it needs an internet connection; you do not need to copy the videos from your phone.
If the playlist is private, it is visible only to its creator, according to YouTube’s playlist guidance. Sign in with the account that created it.
Choose the right method for your goal

Why phone casting is not the way to send playback to a PC
YouTube documents casting from a phone to compatible smart TVs and streaming devices, not a general phone-to-PC-browser workflow. Its iOS casting instructions specifically say there is no option to cast videos to a browser. For a computer, open YouTube directly in the browser instead. See YouTube’s casting guidance.
For a compatible TV or streaming device, open YouTube on both devices and use Cast in the phone app. Ordinary casting generally requires both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi. YouTube also supports linking a phone to some TVs or streaming devices with a TV code when they are not on the same Wi-Fi, but TV-code linking is not available with computers, according to its device-linking guidance.

Can you transfer downloaded YouTube videos from a phone?
Usually, no. YouTube mobile offline downloads are encrypted and can be watched only in the YouTube app; they are not ordinary video files to copy to a PC. In India, downloading is available for some videos in the mobile app, while some videos require Premium. Availability can change, and offline viewing requires the device to reconnect periodically so YouTube can check that the videos are still available. YouTube’s offline-download help page describes these limits.
The India guidance says eligible offline videos may need the device to reconnect after 48 hours. Certain non-music content in some countries or regions may remain available for up to 29 days before reconnection is required. YouTube also notes that T-Series Music has required Premium for downloads in India since October 29, 2020. These are offline-viewing rules inside the app, not a route to create transferable files.

If you need actual video files
For videos you uploaded
YouTube’s official owner-download route lets you download your own uploaded videos from YouTube Studio. Google Takeout can download all videos uploaded by the account. The route applies to uploads owned by that account; YouTube says it cannot be used to download videos uploaded by other users. Follow YouTube’s instructions for downloading your own videos.
For videos uploaded by someone else
YouTube’s mobile offline feature does not provide a transferable file, and the owner-download route does not cover another person’s upload. If your aim is simply to watch the playlist on your PC, use the browser method above. Avoid treating an app download as a file-transfer option.

Do not confuse YouTube Music playlist transfer with video transfer
Google Takeout’s playlist-transfer feature concerns eligible playlists in YouTube Music and transfer to external music services; it does not move the videos in a YouTube playlist to a PC. Its eligibility and content exclusions are described in Google’s YouTube Music playlist-transfer help.
Troubleshooting
- The playlist is missing from the PC: Check that you signed in to the same Google Account as on the phone, then look under You or the library. If it is private, the signed-in account must have access.
- A shared playlist link will not open: The playlist may be private or otherwise unavailable to your account. Ask the owner to confirm your access.
- The phone cannot find the PC in Cast: Use YouTube directly in the PC browser. Phone casting is intended for compatible TVs and streaming devices; TV-code pairing does not make a computer a supported target.
- An offline download will not play or has disappeared: Reconnect the phone to the internet so the YouTube app can check video availability. Some videos may no longer be available offline or may require Premium in India.
- You cannot find a downloadable file after saving a video offline: Offline saves remain encrypted in YouTube’s app. For a file, the official download path applies to your own uploads through Studio or Takeout.
