You can run a continuous CA study stream on YouTube with an encoder, a verified channel, a stable upload connection and a plan for monitoring, rights and replays. Do not treat one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast as a reliable replay source: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. For a 24/7 schedule, plan shorter broadcast handoffs and/or record locally, and build the stream around original, useful study content.
Choose a format that can run continuously
A 24/7 channel is an ongoing broadcast operation, not simply a video left playing. Decide what viewers will see and hear throughout the day, how broadcasts will be handed off, and who will respond if the stream stops.

YouTube supports mobile, webcam and encoder routes. For a planned 24/7 study schedule, an encoder is often the practical choice because it provides more control over scenes and media. Pick the route that fits the show rather than assuming one method is required.
Check eligibility and prepare the channel
- Verify the channel and check its live status. YouTube’s eligibility guidance says the operator must be at least 16 and the channel must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- Activate live streaming before announcing a launch. First-time activation can take time. Complete setup early and leave room to test before promoting the first session.
- Create a private or unlisted test event. Check that the stream can be watched on desktop and mobile, and test with representative audio and movement.
- Decide how viewers will find the schedule and replays. Explain whether you will use separate sessions, where replay links will appear and what happens during handoffs.
Configure and test the encoder
Use a stream key safely
In YouTube’s live settings, use the stream key for the encoder feed. Treat it like a password: do not show it on screen or share it, and reset it if it is exposed. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance explains supported configuration options. Before going live, confirm the encoder is sending to the intended event.

Set video, audio and bitrate
- Video codec: YouTube’s encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC and AV1.
- Audio codec: AAC or MP3.
- Rate control: Constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: Use a two-second interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Bitrate examples for H.264: YouTube’s current guidance accessed in October 2026 recommends 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 6 Mbps for 720p at 60 fps.
Those are platform encoder recommendations, not minimum broadband speeds or a guarantee that an internet connection in India can sustain the stream. Run an upload-speed test, then test the actual stream under realistic household and network load. Choose the lowest resolution at which handwritten notes, slides and text remain readable on an ordinary phone. Reduce bitrate or resolution if the uplink cannot sustain the setting reliably.
Test the whole viewing experience
Check that speech is clear, text is legible, transitions work, and no unintended desktop notifications or private material appear. Monitor YouTube’s stream-health status and messages during the test and the live broadcast. Save a local recording during testing so you can inspect audio, visuals and file growth.

Plan for 24/7 operations and replays
Do not rely on a single 24-hour archive
YouTube’s archive guidance says a live stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as backup.
For a continuous daily schedule, either split the day into shorter sessions with clear handoffs and replay links, or keep a local recording and verify that the file is being written. Local storage is one way to implement a backup, not a YouTube-mandated hardware purchase. Tell viewers in advance how you will handle replays; do not promise that one 24-hour live page will preserve the full day.

Assign monitoring and recovery
During a long run, check stream health, whether the encoder is still sending, local recording growth, power and network status. Decide who will act if the feed fails and how the next session will resume. A second internet path, UPS or spare encoder may be useful when interruptions are costly, but they are local resilience choices, not universal YouTube requirements.
Choose latency for the kind of study session
If you plan to answer chat in real time, lower latency may help interaction. YouTube notes that lower latency can increase buffering; if viewers do not need a live response, latency is less important. Check current options in YouTube’s latency settings guidance and test with the connection and devices your audience uses.

Make the stream useful, original and rights-cleared
Design substantive study blocks
A recurring schedule can include quiet co-study periods, original explanations, question-solving sessions, revision prompts and planned breaks. These are format ideas, not ICAI-prescribed methods. Give the broadcast a real educational purpose and vary the substance so that viewers are not simply watching an interchangeable loop.
YouTube’s monetization policy says content should be original and authentic; repetitive or mass-produced material with little educational or creative value may be ineligible. The policy page notes a July 15, 2025 update clarifying and renaming its repetitious-content policy as inauthentic content. Similar formats may still qualify when the substance varies and provides value, but no particular study-stream format is guaranteed monetization approval. Monetization eligibility and approval are separate matters; check current requirements in YouTube Studio.

Clear every element in the feed
YouTube’s terms put responsibility for obtaining necessary rights, including music rights, on the provider. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; a stream can be interrupted or terminated when such content is identified. Even licensed content may need to be allowlisted in Content ID. Prefer your own teaching and visuals, properly licensed assets, or material whose use is legally cleared. Do not rebroadcast ICAI lectures or third-party course videos without permission.
Before each session, check the source and permissions for music, footage, images, slides and recordings. A credit or attribution alone does not establish that you have permission to use someone else’s work.
Point CA students to current official resources
For course-specific material and exam information, direct viewers to current ICAI notices rather than presenting a creator-run stream as official ICAI instruction. ICAI’s Board of Studies FAQ says students can view lectures on the ICAI YouTube channel and access notes and assignments through the BOS Live portal. Check ICAI’s current notices before mentioning a syllabus, course detail or exam timetable.
