This made AP a useful choice for viewers interested in the travel from the hotel to the museum and in the buildup before celebrities reached the Met steps.
It was not the same feed as Vogue’s official livestream, and its delayed carpet coverage was not necessarily the fastest way to see every arrival at the museum.
Were viewers watching the actual Met Gala?
Mostly, they were watching the public red carpet and arrivals. That distinction matters.

Choose E! for television-style commentary
