To make a 24/7 YouTube stream of Ladakh wind, create a rights-cleared audio-and-visual program, send it to YouTube through a continuous encoder or cloud service, and monitor the live output. A dedicated mini PC is optional. Be precise about what viewers are hearing: call it a recording of a particular Ladakh windstorm only if you can verify the recording’s source.
Plan the sound and visual before you go live
Choose whether the stream will use your own field recording, a soundscape you create, or properly licensed media. Decide what the screen will show: for example, a still image, a designed ambient visual, or footage you have rights to use. Describe the material honestly. Unless you can verify where and when a recording was made, do not present it as a documented recording of a specific place or storm.
This workflow cannot establish that wind sounds improve sleep or that a recording captures Ladakh’s weather. Treat “for sleep” as the intended listening use, not a proven health claim.
Clear every audio and visual asset
YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content, including other live broadcasts. A match may lead to a placeholder, interruption, or termination. YouTube also cautions that licensed material registered with Content ID may require the rights owner to add your channel to an allowlist, even if you hold a license. - Keep records showing that you created each asset or have permission for its use in a YouTube livestream.
- Check that a license covers the intended use, including continuous livestreaming and any archived replay.
- If a licensed track is Content ID registered, ask the rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted before you test or publish the stream.
- Do not assume that crediting the creator, finding a file online, or buying a general-purpose license automatically clears livestream use.
Choose how to keep the YouTube broadcast running

YouTube distinguishes the viewer-facing broadcast from the stream resource that carries its audio and video. Its Live Streaming API documentation describes an ongoing 24/7 broadcast, but it is not a beginner tutorial for looping a video file or a recommended encoder configuration. Set up and test a computer-based stream
YouTube supports computer webcam and encoder methods. For a prepared ambience program, an encoder is the natural fit because it can send a produced feed rather than depend on a camera view. Exact encoder settings depend on the application, source media, and current YouTube Studio controls; confirm the supported configuration in both products’ current documentation rather than copying an unverified preset.

- Check channel eligibility. YouTube says the channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its guidance also says livestreamers must be at least 16. Review YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance before scheduling.
- Prepare the program. Assemble the cleared sound and visual in the format your chosen encoder accepts. Listen through the entire program, including transitions and the point where it will loop, to catch gaps, abrupt changes, or unintended silence.
- Create the live event in YouTube Studio. Use the current live-stream controls to create or schedule the broadcast and retrieve its stream key. Keep the key private: it authorizes an encoder to send video to your channel.
- Configure the encoder. Select the intended YouTube destination and enter the stream key using the encoder’s documented workflow. Verify the chosen video and audio settings against current YouTube Studio guidance and the encoder’s documentation; no universal resolution, bitrate, codec, or keyframe value is established here.
- Start a private or unlisted test where appropriate. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed, the image is correct, the audio is continuous and at a comfortable level, and the broadcast status is healthy before making the program public.
- Go public and monitor it. Check the live output after launch and periodically thereafter. Watch for encoder disconnection, missing audio, unexpected scene changes, and copyright interruptions.
Decide whether an archive matters
Archiving affects whether a livestream can contribute qualifying public watch hours. In guidance published August 12, 2026, YouTube Creator Liaison Rene Ritchie said: “To count as qualified, watch hours have to come from public long form videos (including podcasts) or archived livestreams.” YouTube’s explanation says livestreams that are not archived do not qualify. Read the YouTube explanation of qualified watch hours.
That rule does not establish that an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast will be archived in full or that an archive of any particular duration is guaranteed. Check the current Studio controls and test the archive behavior for your setup before relying on a replay. Archive settings and availability may affect how you plan a continuous stream.

Keep monetization separate from the decision to stream
Accumulating qualifying watch hours does not guarantee acceptance into the YouTube Partner Program. YouTube’s monetization policy identifies repetitive or mass-produced output as “inauthentic content,” which is ineligible for monetization. A long loop should therefore be treated as an original production—with meaningful creative choices and rights-cleared material—not as a shortcut to monetization.
