What they do establish is a reunion between Heather and Captain Robert Massey—and a pregnancy reveal that turns the episode’s menopause premise into its central surprise.
What happens in “Sophisticated Ladies Week”?
Shania Twain returns as Heather, the widow first introduced aboard The Odyssey during Singles Week. She and Captain Robert Massey, played by Don Johnson, reconnect and rekindle their romance. Then Heather realizes she is pregnant, despite being in menopause. ABC’s March 28, 2025 episode report identifies that reveal as the major turn in episode 12.
The episode also follows Tristan, played by Sean Teale, as he tries to prove himself to Avery, played by Phillipa Soo. A disruptive passenger arrives during Sophisticated Ladies Week, while the crew cares for a terminally ill patient. The series’ usual setting—Dr. Max Bankman and the ship’s staff dealing with medical crises and personal relationships on a luxury cruise—gives those threads a shared backdrop, but the reported plot alone cannot establish how smoothly they fit together.
Does the “Three Daddies” hook describe the episode?
Not on the evidence available. The verified account confirms Heather’s pregnancy and her renewed relationship with Massey; it does not identify three fathers or explain the headline’s precise meaning. Treat “Three Daddies” as a tease, not a reliable summary of the plot.

What the pregnancy twist puts in play
The reveal creates an immediate dramatic question: how will Heather and Massey respond to a pregnancy she did not expect while in menopause? It also places a medical premise at the center of a romantic storyline. Those ingredients could support comedy, emotional drama, or both, but the available episode account does not describe the scenes closely enough to judge the medical explanation, the characters’ reactions, or whether the twist is handled with care.
That distinction matters in a review. The premise is confirmed; its execution is not. Without a reliable account of the full episode’s scenes, it would be misleading to claim that the show treats menopause accurately, reduces it to a gag, or gives Heather a particular emotional arc.

How the other storylines shape the episode
The Tristan-and-Avery thread, disruptive passenger, and terminal-patient story give the episode several competing kinds of stakes: a relationship and professional test, a source of onboard disruption, and care at the end of life. Whether those threads deepen or distract from Heather and Massey depends on their screen time, tone, and resolution—details not established in the published plot report.
So the most defensible assessment is a limited one: episode 12 is built around a bold pregnancy surprise and balances it with multiple shipboard stories. A judgment about pacing, tonal cohesion, or character payoff requires the episode itself or a complete, verifiable review.
