There is no independently verified overall winner: the right tool depends on whether you need a cloud service to keep prerecorded video live, a weekly schedule that programs individual tracks, or automation that renews YouTube broadcasts. For a low-maintenance prerecorded stream, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs from the cloud, supports uploaded videos up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and gives you a free first day. For track-by-track weekly programming, SavePoint describes a self-hosted scheduling workflow; OneStream documents a cloud 24/7 workflow with an Enterprise-plan requirement and a 30-day maximum. OBS Live Stream Segmenter and YouTube’s API address broadcast lifecycle management, not music rotation by themselves.
This is a documentation-based comparison, not a hands-on reliability test. Before depending on any setup unattended, test the playlist, stream renewal, and recovery behavior with your own channel and media.
Track scheduling and broadcast scheduling are different jobs
A YouTube scheduled broadcast is an event. An encoder or cloud service supplies the live audio/video feed, while a separate playback or automation system determines which tracks play and in what order. YouTube Studio can create and schedule an event, but it is not a weekly music rotation tool. YouTube’s encoder guide explains how to create a stream in Live Control Room and connect an encoder with the stream URL and stream key: YouTube Help: create a live stream with an encoder.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That matters when planning an always-on station: event duration, renewal, and continuity need attention independently of the track list. The archive behavior does not schedule or rotate music.

OneStream Live: cloud streaming with a stated duration cap
OneStream’s help article, updated 2026-09-03, documents choosing source videos from a device, OneStream storage, or cloud storage; selecting a YouTube channel; and scheduling a 24-hour stream for a chosen duration. The same page says its 24/7 capability is exclusive to YouTube, requires Enterprise, and has a maximum allowed duration of 30 days. Confirm current plan availability and duration rules in OneStream’s 24/7 streaming instructions before building a workflow around them.
Track-by-track weekly programming with SavePoint
SavePoint describes a self-hosted radio-station workflow: import music tracks, video files, and visual assets, then arrange time-based segments in a weekly schedule. Its product page also says it can automatically start, stop, and restart YouTube streams, and claims that pre-rendered content keeps CPU use low during broadcast. These are the vendor’s descriptions, not independently measured performance results. See SavePoint’s YouTube radio-station page.

This approach is the closest fit in the documented options when the central need is a weekly timetable of separate tracks and visual segments. Before committing, verify with current product documentation whether your audio formats, transitions, schedule edits, hosting arrangement, storage needs, and failure recovery match your station. Also find out whether changing a schedule interrupts an active broadcast.
Automating YouTube broadcast renewal with OBS or the API
OBS Live Stream Segmenter

This addresses broadcast lifecycle management, not selection and rotation of tracks. You still need a playback method that feeds OBS, plus a computer or server that stays available and an operational plan for interruptions.
Build a custom integration with YouTube’s API
Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API overview describes scheduling broadcasts, associating video streams, and transitioning broadcast states. The API reference documents operations for creating, listing, updating, binding, and transitioning broadcast and stream resources. These are developer tools: your application still needs to select and play media, provide the live feed, handle authorization, and maintain the workflow. The API documentation does not provide a ready-made weekly playlist scheduler.

Choose using the job you need done
- Choose StreamNeo if your lofi content is uploaded video and you want the YouTube stream to keep running from the cloud without leaving a local machine on.
- Evaluate OneStream if you want cloud scheduling for prerecorded video and its Enterprise requirement and 30-day maximum fit your intended run length.
- Evaluate SavePoint if you need track-level weekly programming and are prepared to verify and operate a self-hosted system.
- Consider Live Stream Segmenter if you already use OBS and chiefly need automated broadcast renewal; pair it with a separate track-playback system.
- Use the API route if you have development capacity and want to build and maintain a custom broadcast workflow.
Compare candidates on scheduling depth (a simple loop, playlist rotation, or time/day programming), whether media is prebuilt video or separate audio and visual layers, where the system runs, how it handles renewal and outages, setup and maintenance burden, and duration or plan restrictions. Treat official YouTube behavior separately from vendor-described features, and run a controlled test before relying on an unattended station.
Copyright, channel rules, and lofi programming checks
Scheduling software does not grant rights to the music or visuals in a stream. Before using a track, establish that you have permission for the composition and recording in the way you intend to use them, including continuous live streaming and any monetization. A track’s availability in a library or permission to use it in one video should not be assumed to cover a 24/7 broadcast. Review YouTube’s current live-stream and copyright requirements, and keep records of licenses or permissions.
Also make the stream meaningfully yours: document the source and rights for music and visuals, check that repeated material complies with YouTube’s current channel monetization policies, and avoid assuming that automation or a live label makes reused material eligible for monetization. For planning, StreamNeo provides a copyright safety checklist.
Test the station before leaving it unattended
- Confirm rights and assets. Check licenses for every track, recording, loop, image, and visual segment; verify that the files play correctly from beginning to end.
- Build a representative schedule. Include the intended track order, transitions, visual changes, and any time-based segments. Check for gaps, accidental silence, and repeated or missing items.
- Run a private or otherwise controlled stream. Confirm the platform destination, audio/video output, stream key handling, and that the expected playlist actually reaches YouTube.
- Test the lifecycle. Observe a scheduled start and a renewal or restart where applicable. Check what viewers experience at an event boundary and whether the playback system resumes at the right point after a disconnect.
- Simulate practical failures. Where safe, test recovery from a dropped connection or stopped process, and verify that alerts or logs reveal a failure rather than leaving a silent stream running.
- Check storage and duration. Confirm that the media fits the plan or host limits and that the chosen stream duration and renewal method suit the channel’s intended schedule.
Common setup problems and what to check
- The broadcast exists but has no picture or sound: the event and the encoder feed are separate. Check that the correct live event is connected to the intended stream URL and stream key, and that the playback source is active.
- The stream ends or needs renewal: check the event lifecycle and duration plan. YouTube archives streams under 12 hours; renewal automation is separate from track scheduling.
- The playlist runs but track timing is wrong: inspect the schedule’s time zone, segment lengths, transitions, and whether edits apply immediately or only to the next scheduled run.
- OBS automation cannot authorize: verify live-stream permission, the Google Cloud project’s YouTube Data API v3 setup, OAuth client configuration, and OBS version against the plugin’s current requirements.
- A cloud workflow cannot run for the planned period: check the provider’s plan gate and maximum duration; OneStream’s cited help article specifies Enterprise and up to 30 days for its 24/7 option.
- A stream is interrupted by a rights claim: stop and investigate the affected material, review the relevant rights and YouTube notice, and replace or remove content only when you have a lawful basis to do so.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, upload a prerecorded video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams your uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and Monthly is $9.99 per month. Start at StreamNeo’s free trial.
