What is Apple Immersive Video?
Apple described Apple Immersive Video as “3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio.” Those are Apple’s stated format specifications, not a claim about audience size or image quality under every viewing condition. On Vision Pro, the format is designed to place the viewer inside a broad, spatial scene rather than present a conventional flat documentary frame.
In the announcement, Tor Myhren, Apple’s vice president of Marketing Communications, said: “Apple Immersive Video is a groundbreaking leap forward for storytelling, offering Apple Vision Pro users remarkable experiences with an unparalleled sense of realism and immersion.”

Where can viewers watch Apple Immersive Video?
In July 2024, Apple said the listed content was available at no additional cost through the Apple TV app in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore, the U.K. and the U.S. For mainland China, Apple named the Migu Video and Tencent Video apps. The company cautioned that titles could vary by country or region; it also said releases debuted in U.S. English with subtitles in additional languages.
Those are dated distribution details, not a guarantee of what is available in a particular country today. Apple’s March 2025 update again noted regional variation and named VIP: Yankee Stadium and Bono: Stories of Surrender among its newer immersive content; Bono: Stories of Surrender was announced in an immersive edition alongside its Apple TV+ release. For current access, check the Apple TV app in your region.

How did Apple’s immersive slate develop after 2024?
Apple’s October 2025 Vision Pro announcement offered further examples, including Metallica, Submerged, The Weeknd: Open Hearts and VIP: Yankee Stadium. It also highlighted Tour De Force from CANAL+ and MotoGP, a backcountry-skiing episode of World of Red Bull, and a Maine-set episode of Elevated. These are examples cited in that dated announcement, not a complete live catalog.
