Discovery announced its global Max debut for Friday, June 20, 2025. The original “this week” window has passed, but a U.S. availability listing checked in July 2026 still reports the film on HBO Max/Max, with digital rental, purchase, DVD, and Blu-ray alternatives.
The film’s release history explains the confusion. International theatrical releases began April 2, 2025, followed by the North American theatrical release on April 4. Max streaming began June 20, and Warner Bros. separately announced an HBO linear-TV debut for June 21, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

When did A Minecraft Movie come out on Max?
A Minecraft Movie arrived on Max globally on Friday, June 20, 2025. Warner Bros. Discovery’s official announcement said, “Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ A MINECRAFT MOVIE will make its global streaming debut on Max FRIDAY, JUNE 20.” Read the Warner Bros. Discovery Max announcement for the original release details.
That date means the movie did not newly come to Max during the week referenced by the original headline. Readers searching for the release date should use June 20, 2025, rather than August 2026 or another relative date.

Is A Minecraft Movie streaming on Max now?
For U.S. viewers, a current availability listing checked in late July 2026 reports A Minecraft Movie on HBO Max/Max. Open the Max app or website, search for the exact title, and confirm that the film is available in your region and included with the plan you use.
Streaming catalogs are not permanent. Max availability can vary by country and can change after a listing is checked, so the safest practical answer is: search for A Minecraft Movie on Max immediately before watching. The JustWatch U.S. availability page is another current-reference point, but its results should also be treated as changeable.
What time did A Minecraft Movie come out on Max?
The verified announcement gives the Max debut date—Friday, June 20, 2025—but does not establish a specific release time for the streaming launch. Do not assume that the Max debut used the same clock time in every country.
Warner Bros. did announce a separate U.S. HBO linear-TV premiere for Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. ET. That was a scheduled television broadcast, not a newly announced Max release time.
Where else can you watch A Minecraft Movie?
Viewers who do not have Max have three reported alternatives: rent the film digitally, buy a digital copy, or purchase a physical DVD or Blu-ray. The U.S. availability listing reports these options, but exact storefront availability and pricing can change.

- Runtime: 101 minutes
| Way to watch | Subscription or purchase | What you get | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Max | Eligible Max subscription | Streaming access while the title is in the catalog | Catalog and regional availability can change. |
| Digital rental | One-time rental payment | Temporary digital viewing access | Check the rental viewing window before starting. |
| Digital purchase | One-time purchase payment | Digital ownership or long-term access through the storefront | Account, storefront, and platform terms apply. |
| DVD or Blu-ray | One-time physical purchase | A disc you can keep and play on compatible equipment | Edition, seller, price, and stock vary. |
Current prices should not be copied from an old listing. Check the relevant digital storefront or retailer immediately before publication or purchase, because rental prices, purchase prices, physical editions, and stock are not fixed by the film’s Max debut announcement.

What should you check before watching?
- Search for A Minecraft Movie in the Max app or website.

- If Max does not show the film, check a current availability listing for digital rental, digital purchase, DVD, or Blu-ray options.
- For a physical copy, confirm the disc format and player compatibility before buying.
- For publication or buying decisions, recheck prices, plan terms, storefront listings, edition details, and stock immediately beforehand.
Families looking for companion activities can also consult Warner Bros.’ official A Minecraft Movie activity pack. The activity pack is a supplementary tie-in, not a replacement for the film or a guarantee of streaming availability.
