Bernie Madoff is a former market maker, investment advisor, financier, and fraudster. He is a convicted felon, who is currently serving a federal prison sentence for offenses related to a massive Ponzi scheme.

Bernie was the former non-executive chairman of the NASDAQ stock market. His Ponzi scheme is considered the largest financial fraud in US history.

Madoff formed the Wall Street firm Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC in 1960. He was the chairman of the company until his arrest on December 11, 2008. As a top market maker business on Wall Street, his company bypassed specialist firms by directly executing orders over the counter from retail brokers.
