Whoopi Goldberg’s birthday falls on November 13, and The View, where she is a moderator, has marked it on air in more than one way. The documented years do not follow a single format. In 2021 the show built a favorite-things segment and gave items to the studio audience. In 2024 Goldberg shared a Charlotte Russe on the show, and the bakery behind that order became the subject of a public dispute. In 2025 the show’s verified YouTube channel posted a birthday greeting. Each year below is described only as far as the reporting confirms.
The 2021 favorite-things segment
ABC News published its account on November 12, 2021, under the headline “Whoopi Goldberg celebrates birthday by sharing her favorite things.” The article described November 13, 2021 as Goldberg’s 66th birthday. In the segment she shared items she likes, and members of the studio audience received them.
The gift that was named
ABC’s article named one of the items: the Conair Comfy Curler Soft Curl Rollers. The article describes them as soft, bendable rollers intended to be worn overnight. The same article listed them at $8.99 at Rite Aid. That is a historical price from November 2021, not a current one. Current stock, pricing and listing details for the rollers were not established in the coverage and should be checked with a retailer directly.
The show’s own description
ABC’s article also carries a line attributed to The View: “Celebrating Whoopi Goldberg’s birthday at ‘The View’ gives everyone a chance to get in on all of the fun!” This is program copy written by the show, not a quotation from Goldberg, and it should not be read as her words.

The 2024 Charlotte Russe and the bakery dispute
The Associated Press reported that Goldberg celebrated her 69th birthday on The View on November 13, 2024. She shared a Charlotte Russe, a dessert she associated with her mother’s childhood birthday celebrations.
What AP reported about the order
AP’s coverage, published November 16, 2024, reported that the bakery attributed its initial inability to fulfill the order to equipment trouble. Its headline reported that New York City politicians called on Goldberg to apologize for saying the bakery had denied the order over politics.
