Which Omega Seamaster Did Daniel Craig Wear at the Paris Olympics?

OMEGA identified Daniel Craig’s Paris 2024 Olympics watch as a stainless-steel, black version of the updated Seamaster Diver 300M series. It was not the Bronze Gold and Burgundy model OMEGA announced in February 2025: that was a separate release associated with Craig’s later Governors Awards appearance.

The watch at the Paris Olympics

Craig’s watch drew attention during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In a report published on 20 December 2024, Time+Tide described the watch as appearing to be a new black, wave-dial Seamaster with a mesh bracelet and no date display. The report said some observers initially mistook it for the Seamaster 60 Years of Bond Edition, but OMEGA confirmed that Craig had worn a new watch. The brand’s statement, quoted by Time+Tide, said: “Watch fans might also have spotted a new Omega watch on Daniel’s wrist. The details of the timepiece will be revealed later this year, but for now, the first pictures give a sneak peek of what can be expected.”

OMEGA’s subsequent identification is more definitive than the early visual descriptions. In its 21 November 2024 announcement of a new Seamaster Diver 300M range, the brand said the first watch in the series had been seen on Craig at the Paris Games and identified it as a black stainless-steel version.

Why the Bronze Gold and Burgundy watch is different

In February 2025, OMEGA introduced another Diver 300M: a Bronze Gold and Burgundy version. Fratello connected that later release with Craig’s appearance at the Governors Awards. It is a separate watch and should not be confused with the black stainless-steel model identified at the Olympics.

What OMEGA specified for the 2025 model

OMEGA’s 19 February 2025 release gives the Bronze Gold and Burgundy watches a 42 mm case and a burgundy oxalic-anodised aluminium bezel ring with a diving scale in vintage Super-LumiNova. The matte black, sandblasted aluminium dial has PVD 18K Bronze Gold hands and blackened indexes, both filled with vintage Super-LumiNova.

Both versions use OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, visible through a sapphire caseback. OMEGA says the Master Chronometer tests are certified by METAS. The release describes the bracelet option as brushed Bronze Gold mesh with a foldover clasp; the alternative is an integrated black rubber strap with a Bronze Gold buckle.

OMEGA’s Bronze Gold alloy

OMEGA says its Bronze Gold alloy contains 37.5% gold, is hallmarked as 9K, and also contains palladium and silver. The brand describes it as corrosion-resistant, without verdigris oxidation, and designed to develop patina slowly. Those composition and aging descriptions are OMEGA’s claims about its material.

How the models fit the updated Diver 300M range

OMEGA dates the Seamaster Diver 300M collection to 1993. For the updated series, the brand says it drew design inspiration from the Diver 300M 007 Edition worn in No Time to Die, including mesh-bracelet styling and a domed sapphire crystal. The range includes different materials and configurations, so details of one model should not be assumed to apply to every Diver 300M.
