In the United States, Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) is currently easiest to watch as a digital rental or purchase. Google Play Movies lists an HD rental at $3.99 and an HD purchase at $9.99 in the U.S. listing checked August 18, 2026. No free U.S. streaming option was verified in the latest JustWatch check, dated June 24, 2026.

This is Mel Brooks’s 1993 comedy starring Cary Elwes, not Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves or another Robin Hood film. Availability and prices can change by country, retailer and account.

Cheapest legitimate way to watch once

For a one-time viewing, the lowest directly verified digital price is Google Play Movies’ $3.99 HD rental. Open the official Google Play listing, verify the 1993 film, and select Rent HD. The displayed price is tied to the U.S. account and may change.

Google Play rental or purchase steps

  1. Open the official Google Play Movies page.
  2. Confirm the title is the 1993, 104-minute, PG-13 film.
  3. Select Rent HD or Buy HD.
  4. Check the final price, taxes and payment account before confirming.
  5. Watch through a supported browser or device after the transaction.

Digital rental and purchase alternatives

Amazon Video

JustWatch lists the movie for rent or purchase through Amazon Video. Amazon may display the title within Prime Video, but the page itself does not prove that it is included with a Prime membership. Look for an explicit Included with Prime, Rent or Buy label.

Apple TV Store

The Apple TV page identifies the 1993 film, with a 1-hour-44-minute runtime, PG-13 rating, English audio and English closed captions. Confirm the current transaction button and device compatibility.

Fandango at Home

JustWatch also lists Fandango at Home as a rental and purchase source. Sign in, search the complete title and check the current resolution and checkout price before paying.

One JustWatch editorial snapshot showed approximately $3.99 to rent on Amazon Video and $4.99 on Apple TV Store and Fandango at Home, but those figures are not a standing price list. Storefront prices vary by date, country, resolution, promotion and account.

Is it free on a streaming service?

No free U.S. option was verified in the latest reliable listing consulted. JustWatch reported no free streaming option when it checked on June 24, 2026.

“Free” can mean ad-supported viewing, inclusion with an existing subscription, a library service, a promotional trial or access to a copy someone already owns. Only the first two are ordinary streaming-catalog availability. An old DVD, an unofficial upload or a page that merely displays the title is not proof of free legal playback.

Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ availability

Netflix

Netflix has a title page in at least one non-U.S. country path, but that does not establish U.S. availability. Check Netflix while signed in to your account and country.

Prime Video

A Prime Video title page exists, and JustWatch lists Amazon Video rental and purchase options. That is different from inclusion in the Prime subscription catalog. Verify the playback button and price.

Disney+ and other subscriptions

Some secondary services report broader subscription availability, but those claims conflict with the more recent U.S. JustWatch listing. Treat them as potentially outdated, country-specific or referring to a different access type. Do not start a new subscription solely for this film unless the service explicitly shows it as included.

Buying digital versus buying a disc

Digital purchase

Google Play’s observed U.S. price was $9.99 for HD. A digital purchase is generally a license associated with the retailer account and supported devices, not a physical object independent of that retailer’s catalog and terms. It is convenient for repeat viewing, but access can depend on the platform.

DVD or Blu-ray

JustWatch lists DVD and Blu-ray listings through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. A disc can suit collectors, offline viewing, unreliable internet connections and viewers who want access that does not depend on a subscription catalog. Marketplace inventory, edition details and prices change, so check the specific listing before ordering.

Make sure you have the right movie

Before paying, match all of these identifiers:

  • Title: Robin Hood: Men in Tights
  • Year: 1993
  • Director: Mel Brooks
  • Lead: Cary Elwes as Robin Hood
  • Runtime: approximately 104 minutes
  • Rating: PG-13

Search results can mix it with Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991), Disney’s animated Robin Hood (1973), the 1938 The Adventures of Robin Hood or television series.

Is it suitable for children?

The film is rated PG-13. Apple’s advisories identify language, violence, sexual content and suggestive dialogue. It is not automatically a children’s or family movie; parents should decide whether its off-color humor and comic violence fit their household.

If a listing does not work

  • Search the complete title plus “1993.”
  • Check whether the app separates a subscription catalog from its rental store.
  • Look for a current Rent, Buy or Play control; a leftover title page alone is weak evidence.
  • Confirm your legitimate country and account region; do not bypass geographic restrictions.
  • Try another listed retailer, a library catalog or a physical-media seller.
  • Check the year and cast again if a different Robin Hood film appears.

Availability outside the United States

This guide covers U.S. listings. Streaming and transactional rights differ across Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and other markets. Use the appropriate country version of a legitimate availability guide or check local retailers; do not assume U.S. prices or services apply elsewhere.
