Verdict: Verizon has run a genuine promotion covering Netflix Standard with Ads and Max with Ads for 12 months with selected Fios plans. It is not a permanent, universal benefit. Eligibility, pricing and the post-promotion charge depend on your address, plan and account, so confirm the credit in Verizon’s checkout before ordering.
Verizon’s November 2024 announcement described the offer as Netflix and Max with ads free for 12 months (Verizon announcement). A January 2025 report tied it to Fios 1 Gig, and May 2026 coverage reported Fios 1 Gig and 2 Gig, but current Verizon pages now emphasize a regular paid Netflix-and-Max perk. Treat the 12-month credit as a time-limited offer, not a standing Fios feature.

What the Verizon Fios deal actually includes
When the promotion appears on your order, Verizon covers the eligible streaming bundle for 12 months while you continue paying for Fios Home Internet. The included tiers are:
- Netflix Standard with Ads
- Max with Ads (older Verizon wording may say HBO Max with Ads)
These are ad-supported plans, not Netflix Premium or Max Ultimate. The offer does not automatically include ad-free viewing, the highest video quality, downloads or the largest simultaneous-streaming allowance. Verizon’s legal terms describe the included tiers and registration requirements (Verizon perk terms).

Which Fios plans qualify?
Past offer coverage identified Fios 1 Gig and, in later reporting, Fios 2 Gig. Other Verizon Home Internet promotions have placed 5G Home Plus or LTE Home Plus in the same offer family, but that does not make them eligible for every Fios promotion.
Eligibility can be address-, customer- and plan-specific. Enter your service address on Verizon’s Fios page and read the entertainment line in the final order summary (Verizon Fios availability and plans). Choose the deal only when the checkout explicitly says the Netflix-and-Max credit is included with your selected plan.
New and existing customers
Some campaigns target new Fios installations or upgrades, while others are limited to selected existing accounts. Verizon’s terms generally limit an offer to one eligible line or internet account. An existing customer should check Services & Perks in My Verizon rather than assuming a plan change creates a new 12-month period.

What “free” means on your bill
The streaming portion can be offset by a Verizon credit; the internet service is not free. Your total may still include the Fios rate, taxes, equipment, installation or other services. Auto Pay, paperless billing and mobile-customer discounts can change the internet price independently.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →A January 29, 2025 report listed Fios 1 Gig at $89.99 per month, or $79.99 with Auto Pay and paperless billing. Those are historical figures, not a current nationwide price (January 2025 deal report). Use the amount shown for your address.
Outside the free-year campaign, Verizon currently shows a regular Netflix-and-Max perk as a paid add-on. The Fios sales page has displayed $10 per month, while a Verizon FAQ has displayed $13; the difference may reflect plan, account or price changes. Verify the recurring amount in your checkout and perk-management screen (Verizon FAQ).
How to claim and activate the promotion
- Order or upgrade to a qualifying Fios plan and save the offer language from the order summary.
- Complete installation and wait for the internet account to show as active.
- Open the promotion in My Verizon under Services & Perks, or use the activation email or text.
- Enroll by the deadline printed in your offer. Deadlines vary; historical campaigns used different enrollment and registration windows.
- Register Netflix and Max separately. You can create new accounts or link existing ones.
- Confirm that Verizon is the billing provider or that the promotional credit is visible before ending any old subscription.
- Record the credit’s end date and the then-current renewal price.
Netflix explains that Verizon customers receive an activation message and can link an existing account through that flow (Netflix activation help).

Using existing Netflix and Max accounts
Netflix
Linking the existing Netflix account preserves profiles and viewing history. Do not create a second account unless you intend to. If Apple or another third party bills your Netflix subscription, follow Netflix’s instructions for ending that billing arrangement after the Verizon link is active. A higher Netflix tier may incur an extra charge, and upgrade choices depend on the specific Verizon offer.
Max
A direct-billed Max account may need to be replaced or transferred to the Verizon arrangement. A subscription billed through Apple, a cable company or another provider may continue separately and require its own cancellation. Verizon’s terms warn that third-party billing is not always replaced automatically.
What happens after the 12 months?
Unless your offer says otherwise, expect the perk to renew at Verizon’s then-current monthly price after the promotional period. Historical coverage cited about $10 per month, but current Verizon pages show conflicting $10 and $13 signals. Check the exact amount attached to your account.

Cancel in My Verizon online or in the My Verizon app before the first paid renewal if you do not want the bundle (cancellation terms). Changing to an ineligible Fios plan or canceling internet can end the credit earlier, so review the effect before modifying service.

Calculate the real value rather than treating “free” as a reason to buy gigabit service:
Streaming value during the credit = 12 × the standalone monthly prices of Netflix Standard with Ads and Max with Ads at redemption.
Best Value
- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
The important comparison is the incremental cost of the qualifying Fios tier. Streaming alone rarely requires gigabit bandwidth. Fios 1 Gig or 2 Gig makes more sense for a household with many simultaneous users, large downloads, gaming, work-from-home traffic or other heavy use.
The promotion is attractive when
- You already want the qualifying Fios speed.
- You currently pay for both Netflix and Max.
- Ads are acceptable.
- The 12-month credit is plainly shown at your address.
- You will set a reminder before renewal.
Consider another option when
- You would choose a cheaper internet tier without the streaming incentive.
- You require ad-free Netflix or Max.
- Another bundle already provides either service.
- You do not want Verizon to manage streaming billing.
- The offer is absent, expired or costs more than buying services directly.
Troubleshooting common problems
The promotion is missing in My Verizon
- Verify that Fios activation is complete and that the selected plan is eligible.
- Check the order confirmation and Services & Perks page for an address- or account-targeted offer.
- Look for an enrollment deadline or an incompatible existing perk.
- Contact Verizon and ask specifically about the Netflix & Max promotional perk.
- Do not start separate Netflix or Max subscriptions while eligibility is unresolved.
You are charged after activation
Check whether registration finished, whether the credit began on a different date, whether you selected a paid tier upgrade, whether an old subscription remained active, or whether the 12-month period ended. Also confirm that a plan change did not remove eligibility.
You want ad-free service
Ad-free viewing is a separate paid decision. Max documents paid tier upgrades while retaining the Verizon arrangement (Max upgrade help). Netflix upgrade availability and pricing vary by promotion, so inspect the plan-management screen before accepting an extra charge.

- Verizon’s regular perk: a recurring Netflix-and-Max add-on at the price shown for your account.
- Direct subscriptions: sign up at Netflix or Max when you want independent billing or ad-free tiers.
- Cheaper Fios tier: choose the speed you need and buy streaming separately.
- Rotation: subscribe to one service at a time if you do not watch both every month.
Before ordering, compare the complete Fios total during and after any internet discount, the streaming renewal price, equipment and taxes, Auto Pay conditions, and the cost of any ad-free upgrade. The best choice is the one that remains competitive after the promotional year ends.
