Tron: Ares began streaming exclusively on Disney+ in the United States on January 7, 2026. As of August 18, 2026, it is already listed on Disney+, so subscribers can watch it now. Availability and timing may differ in other countries.
When did Tron: Ares arrive on Disney+?
Disney announced the streaming date on December 30, 2025. The film’s Disney+ debut was Wednesday, January 7, 2026—not the earlier January or February dates that appeared in pre-announcement speculation. Disney described the subscription-streaming release as exclusive to Disney+. Read Disney’s announcement.
The theatrical release was October 10, 2025. Digital rental and purchase started December 2, 2025, followed by 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 6, 2026. Those dates are separate from the Disney+ subscription debut. See Disney’s film-release details.
How to watch it on Disney+
- Open the Disney+ app or visit Disney+ in a web browser.
- Search for Tron: Ares using the title or the film page.
- Select the movie and start playback with an active Disney+ subscription.
The official Disney+ listing identifies the movie as a 2025 action-adventure science-fiction title and provides a subscription prompt: open the title page. Disney has not published a universal release time of day, so catalog visibility can depend on territory and platform refresh.

Do you need Disney+ Premium?
No specific Premium tier is required simply to watch the film. Disney’s U.S. site showed these prices on August 18, 2026; prices and promotions can change:
| Plan | Observed U.S. price | Practical distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Disney+ with ads | $11.99 per month | On-demand viewing with advertising |
| Disney+ Premium | $18.99 per month | Generally ad-free on demand; Disney notes selected live or linear content may still include ads |
| Disney+ Premium annual | $189.99 per year | Annual Premium subscription |
These are standalone U.S. prices observed on Disney’s subscription page. Choose based on how often you will use Disney+ and whether features such as ad-free on-demand playback or downloads matter to you; the film itself does not require a separate upgrade.

Is it included with a Disney+ subscription?
Yes. Watching Tron: Ares through Disney+ is included while your subscription is active. You do not buy or rent it separately inside the subscription service. However, Disney+ access is not ownership: canceling the subscription does not leave you with a permanent copy.
What if the movie does not appear?
Disney+ catalogs are territory-specific. The U.S. announcement confirms January 7, 2026, while the title page checked for this article is a regional Disney+ listing. If you cannot find the film:

- Make sure the subscription is active and that your profile’s parental controls allow a PG-13 title.
- Allow the app or device catalog to refresh; third-party bundle interfaces may display titles differently.
Do not assume that another country received the same date, or that reinstalling the app alone will resolve every listing issue.
Does Disney+ support IMAX Enhanced?
Disney says Tron: Ares is available in IMAX Enhanced, including an expanded aspect ratio for Disney+ subscribers. Compatible televisions and AV receivers may also support IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS. The expanded image and audio features depend on the title presentation, region, app, compatible hardware, and settings; a standard television may play the movie normally without showing every enhancement. Disney explains the presentation.
