Spotify introduced Wrapped Party with 2025 Wrapped on December 3, 2025. It is a mobile-only live group experience where friends compare their listening statistics and earn awards based on the group’s habits—not a feature for playing music together. Spotify called it a first-time launch; “multiplayer” here means sharing a live comparison game, not multiplayer playback.
What Spotify Wrapped Party does
Wrapped Party turns participants’ personalized 2025 listening data into a group reveal. Friends join the same party, see comparisons, react with emojis, and receive awards tied to their listening habits. Spotify’s launch guide gives examples such as Most Minutes, Rarest Listen, Most Obsessed, and most new artists discovered, as well as musical-compatibility comparisons. The mix is chosen from an award pool and can change with the participants and group size, so those examples are not a guaranteed lineup.

A party needs a host and at least one other friend. It can include up to 10 people total: the host plus as many as nine friends. Larger groups may unlock more group details. The host controls when the experience starts and advances; hosting can also be transferred. That makes it a live, paced activity rather than a self-directed slideshow. Spotify’s Wrapped Party guide explains the mechanics.
How to host a Wrapped Party
- Open the Spotify mobile app. Spotify listed three ways to find the feature: the Wrapped hub, the end of your personalized Wrapped experience, or an in-app search for “Wrapped Party.”
- Create a party, then customize its name, profile image, and display name.
- Invite friends with the party’s unique link or code.
- Wait for participants to join, then start the party and advance through the reveals. The host can transfer hosting duties.
- Use emoji reactions during the reveals if you want to respond as the group goes along.
How to join as a guest
- Open the host’s party link, or find Wrapped Party in Spotify.
- Select “Join with Code” and enter the host’s code if you are not using the link.
- Tap “Join party,” then update the name and profile image shown to the group.
- Wait in the lobby for the host to begin. Join before the start: Spotify describes the activity as live, and people who arrive after it begins may miss the experience.
Who could use it, and where?
Spotify’s launch instructions set a minimum age of 13 and required a Wrapped-eligible market and eligible listening history. For personalized 2025 Wrapped, Spotify said users needed at least 30 qualifying songs—each streamed for more than 30 seconds—across at least five artists during the relevant listening period. Streams in Private Mode and listening excluded from a user’s Taste Profile did not count toward the eligibility threshold described in Spotify’s announcement. Availability and eligibility can vary by market and account; Spotify cautions that not every user receives every Wrapped feature.

Wrapped Party was mobile-only. Spotify announced the broader 2025 Wrapped experience for eligible Free and Premium users in nearly all markets where it operated; it did not identify Wrapped Party as Premium-only. Wrapped Party is not Spotify Jam
Both features are social, but they solve different problems. Wrapped Party compares what people listened to over the Wrapped period; Jam is for listening to music together now. Spotify’s New Year’s guide describes Jam as a shared queue where participants can add songs in real time.

Spotify described Wrapped Party as a new live experience with friends, and contemporary coverage framed it as a multiplayer addition to Wrapped. The precise claim is that it was Wrapped’s first multiplayer-style comparison game—not that it was Spotify’s first-ever multiplayer feature or a new way to control shared playback. TechCrunch’s launch coverage also used the multiplayer framing.
Privacy, sharing, and what happens when you leave
Before joining, be comfortable with the group seeing your revealed listening data and profile image: Spotify says other participants can see and share them. Participants can share party results afterward, but the party itself is not saved once a user exits. Guests can rewatch from the beginning while the party remains available, so do not treat it as a permanent recap or assume you can return after leaving.

Availability beyond the 2025 launch
Spotify launched Wrapped Party on December 3, 2025 as part of that year’s Wrapped. Its support material remains framed around 2025 Wrapped, and Spotify’s April 23, 2026 design article mentions Wrapped Party without specifying an access window. Those sources establish the launch and later reference, but do not confirm that the party is continuously available year-round or that it will return unchanged for 2026. If Wrapped Party does not appear or a guest cannot join
- It is missing: Update the Spotify mobile app, check the Wrapped hub, or search the exact name “Wrapped Party.” Confirm that the account received personalized Wrapped; eligibility and market availability can affect access.
- A link or code fails: Check that the guest is signed into the intended Spotify account and is trying in the mobile app. Spotify documents the feature as mobile-only, so do not assume desktop or web-player access.
- Someone missed the reveals: The host controls the pace. Guests should enter the lobby before the host starts.
- Results are gone: Spotify says a party is not saved after a participant exits. Share results before leaving if you want to keep them.
- The data sharing is uncomfortable: Participants’ revealed listening data and profile images can be seen and shared by other guests. Decide whether that suits the group before joining.
