Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros released on January 21, 2025. The only specific release hour on record is 12:01 AM Eastern Time that day, which Barnes & Noble gave for its in-store sale. The sources do not establish a single worldwide hour, so the answer depends on the retailer and format you mean.
The release date
Onyx Storm is the third book in Rebecca Yarros’s Empyrean series. Its publication date of January 21, 2025 is listed by Barnes & Noble, Third Place Books, and OverDrive. Third Place Books lists the standard edition, which is the hardcover most readers mean when they ask about the release.
The 12:01 AM ET in-store sale
The Barnes & Noble event listing states: “Onyx Storm goes on sale in store at 12:01 AM ET on 1/21/25.” That is a retailer statement, not a publisher or author announcement. It applies to Barnes & Noble in-store sales and is the only hour the sources give for a specific seller.
Release time by retailer and format
The listings agree on the calendar date but diverge on the hour. Only one source gives an hour at all.
