The most recent progress figure he has published himself is a March 2025 post saying he had lost roughly 500 pounds and was about 50 pounds from his goal. That is his own report, not a verified medical record, and as of October 2026 we could not find a later confirmed weight or health update.
What happened in Wess’s Season 11 episode
Wess appeared in Season 11, Episode 3, titled “Wess’ Journey.” The episode’s synopsis, as listed on Prime Video’s season listing for My 600-lb Life, describes him questioning whether he was ready to live openly as a gay man in small-town Texas. Prime Video is a streaming listing rather than a TLC transcript, so it is a reliable source for the episode title and summary but not for the details of what was said on screen.
The 2024 follow-up episode
Wess returned in My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now?, Season 9, Episode 2, “Ontreon and Wess,” dated May 8, 2024. The episode listing on TheTVDB says he was doing well after surgery and that having his lymphedema removed was a key next goal.
Wess’s later life was covered by Distractify’s follow-up article, which draws on his social media posts. According to that report, he:

- had surgery to remove the lymphedema that had limited his mobility;
- went on a blind date;
- tried stand-up comedy at the Plaza Theater;
- was considering a further operation to remove excess abdominal skin; and
- kept working at his desk job.
These are details reported by the outlet from Wess’s posts. They have not been independently confirmed, and the article does not establish whether the additional skin-removal surgery happened.
Weight figures and who reported them
Several weights have circulated for Wess. The table separates each figure by who reported it, so you can see which numbers are secondhand and which are his own.

Because these numbers come from an episode, an outlet, and social posts, none should be read as a current measurement. Take them as a timeline of what was publicly reported, not as proof of his present weight.
His own 2025 update
The most recent first-person progress statement we located is a post signed “Wess” and reproduced in a Reddit thread titled “Wess S11 EP3 2 year update”, posted March 31, 2025. The post reads: “I’ve now lost roughly 500 pounds and am just 50 pounds away from my goal!” The same post thanks the show’s community for its support and calls the journey life-changing.

The thread is a fan repost of his words, so the wording and date reflect what was shared there, not an official record. A later Looper retrospective quotes a short social post in similar terms but does not add a verified current weight.

- that Wess reached his goal weight;
- that he had the abdominal skin-removal operation he was considering;
- his current weight or overall medical status.
If you are looking for a current update, check Wess’s own public posts, which are the only source that has stated figures after 2024, and treat any undated number with caution.

TLC’s My 600-lb Life show page includes a Watch Now option, but at the time of review it displayed Season 13 episodes. That page does not confirm whether Wess’s Season 11 episode is currently available to stream. Check the Prime Video listing above for that season, and check your subscription service’s catalog, since availability changes.

The follow-up format is described by Warner Bros. Discovery as following former patients months or years after bariatric surgery. Its 2024 announcement lists the season premiere as April 24, 2024.
Reading the reports carefully
Use “reported” or “according to his dated post” when citing weights, and keep the episode timeline, outlet reporting, and Wess’s own statements separate. Individual weight-loss stories like this one are not evidence about how any treatment, product, or program works for other people, and nothing here should be read as medical advice.
