The reported cancellation refers most plausibly to an expected Alexa Bliss appearance on Raw in San Jose in January 2025—not to a permanent end to her WWE return. PWInsider attributed the change to contract discussions, but WWE did not publicly confirm that explanation. WWE later documented Bliss’s return at the Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025.
What return was reportedly canceled?
On January 27, 2025, PWInsider reported that WWE’s creative team had been told not to include Bliss in its plans and that an expected appearance on Raw in San Jose was off. The report attributed the change to contract discussions: according to PWInsider, Bliss’s representatives sought a new agreement while WWE expected her to return under her existing deal. That account is secondary reporting, not an official WWE explanation. WWE did not confirm the contract dispute or identify it as the reason for changing the plans. The report describes a specific expected appearance, not a permanent cancellation of Bliss’s return.
Did Alexa Bliss eventually return to WWE?

The official video establishes that she appeared at the event; it does not explain why the earlier San Jose plans changed.
How the later Wyatt Sicks story differs
A separate report published in August 2026 described former WWE wrestler Joseph Sawyer, known as Joe Gacy, discussing earlier conversations about Bliss potentially joining the Wyatt Sicks. Those conversations did not become a realized plan. This is a different story from the January 2025 report about an expected Raw appearance; the two should not be treated as the same canceled return. What WWE announced after her return
WWE’s August 28, 2026 event listing announced Bliss for a six-woman tag team match at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6. The listing named Charlotte Flair, Bliss and Tatum Paxley against Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab. See WWE’s event announcement.
That official announcement is evidence of a later scheduled match, not an explanation of the January 2025 change or a statement about long-term booking.
