The Edge of Sleep did get a television season: its six episodes appeared on Prime Video on October 15, 2024, three days before the announced release date. The series was later reported to have moved to Tubi in May 2025. That change does not establish that the show was cancelled, and the available sources do not confirm a television-season renewal either.

Some confusion comes from the fact that The Edge of Sleep began as a podcast. The podcast and TV adaptation have separate episode counts and separate status histories.

Which version of The Edge of Sleep do you mean?

The original is a QCODE fiction podcast. Its eight episodes follow a night watchman who discovers that people who slept the previous night have died. He and other survivors try to stay awake while investigating the cause. QCODE credits Jake Emanuel and Willie Block as creators, and Markiplier as star and producer. QCODE’s official series page includes episode transcripts.

The television adaptation is a separate, six-episode live-action series. Its principal cast includes Markiplier, Lio Tipton, Franz Drameh and Eve Harlow, according to the series history page. Dates and status reports about the TV show should not be confused with announcements about the podcast.

What happened to the TV series?

Here is the reported timeline:

  • April 14, 2021: QCODE’s press archive lists a Deadline report about the planned television adaptation.
  • April 11, 2022: The archive lists a Deadline story announcing a second season of the podcast. This was an audio-series announcement, not a TV renewal.
  • September 30, 2024: Markiplier announced October 18 as the TV series’ planned release date, according to release coverage.
  • October 15, 2024: All six TV episodes appeared on Prime Video three days before that announced date. The release coverage describes the early arrival as unexpected but does not explain why it happened.
  • May 15, 2025: The series was reported to have moved to Tubi. The reported launch covered several markets, but availability and playback access can differ by location.

QCODE’s archive records the subjects and dates of the two Deadline reports: QCODE press archive. For current viewing, search your local Prime Video and Tubi catalogs; the sources do not establish country-by-country availability.

Was The Edge of Sleep cancelled or renewed?

The available reporting establishes that the first TV season was released and that it was later reported on Tubi. It does not establish that the series was cancelled, renewed for a second TV season, or removed from Prime Video for a particular reason. A change in streaming platform is not, by itself, evidence of cancellation.

The often-mentioned second-season announcement belongs to the podcast. QCODE’s press archive identifies the 2022 announcement as one for the audio series; it is not evidence of a television-season renewal.

Why did it leave Prime Video?

The reviewed reporting does not explain why the show’s Prime Video availability changed, whether a specific rights term was involved, or what prompted the early 2024 release. It would be speculation to say Amazon deliberately buried the series or to attribute the platform change to a particular licensing decision.

Where can you watch it now?

The TV series was reported to have moved to Tubi in May 2025, but that does not guarantee it is currently playable in every country. Streaming catalogs change by territory, so check the title in your local Tubi and Prime Video catalogs before relying on a listing. The podcast is a separate eight-episode audio version; QCODE’s series page provides its episode information and transcripts.
