He called ABC a “crappy company” and said its license should be taken away. The exchange took place in the Oval Office during a press availability with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and is recorded in the U.S. Government Publishing Office transcript.
What Mary Bruce asked
Bruce asked Trump: “Mr. President, why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?” The question concerned the timing of releasing the files. The official transcript records it as part of the November 18 press exchange.
What Trump said about Bruce and ABC
Trump criticized Bruce’s manner of questioning and her reporting. He told her, “I think you are a terrible reporter.” He then said: “And ABC is—your company—your crappy company is one of the perpetrators.”
Trump also said, “I think the license should be taken away from ABC, because your news is so fake, and it’s so wrong.” Those are Trump’s accusations and his stated view about ABC; the transcript documents that he made them, not that they are true.

What the transcript establishes—and what it does not
The government transcript establishes the setting, Bruce’s question and Trump’s remarks. It does not independently verify his claims about ABC’s coverage or his characterization of the Epstein matter as a “hoax.” Nor does it establish the accuracy of figures he cited during the exchange, including “$21 trillion” and “97 percent negative to Trump.” The transcript records those as Trump’s statements; it supplies no validation or methodology for them.
The American Presidency Project transcript also preserves the exchange. A Wikimedia Commons subtitle transcript identifies Bruce and reproduces the exchange; the government transcript is the primary record for the remarks.
